Re: Server Issues - Bug report

The kicking for spawn attacking is very aggressive in what it calls spawn attacking. Ive seen people kicked for it right next to the bombsite, when we are attacking an enemy. However it judges what spawn attacking is, it needs to be toned down.

Spawn protection timer was reduced to 10 seconds, it was previously at 30 seconds. With wound reflection and slap this won't need to be as long.

Weight mod

Hey, I'm just expressing a few concerns and thoughts about the "weight mod" that is a part of the realism mod on the TG server.

This is best explained with jumping straight into an example:

In the beginning of the round (assuming I just joined the server) during buytime I will buy a Famas, Kevlar+Helmet, 2 flashes, 1 nade, 1 smoke. Let's say I die that round.

Next round starts - during buytime I buy the exact same setup as the previous round. However, this time when the round starts I'm running like twice as slow. I die.

Next round starts - I buy the same stuff. Now all of a sudden I'm running faster.

I don't know what the deal is with the weight mod but I think it is definitely flawed. It seems very annoying, especially when someone buys a Para and goes running past you in your spawn like he's got a jetpack on - and you are running slower than him and all you are carrying is an m4a1.

My personal opinion would be to just take the weight mod completely off. I mean, yes it is an attempt at making the game more realistic; and granted, if it actually worked properly, it would be awesome and I would have no problem with it. However, I feel that no weight mod at all is better than a flawed weight mod that is random and inconsistent. I'd rather level the playing feild and have everyone run the same speed all the time then have someone run slower or faster than another person randomly without any logic to it.

Thoughts?

Re: Weight mod

this is a confirmed bug and this stuff goes into the server bug report which it is already there.

I moved this to the bug report thread. The way the bug works is that the weight does not record the drop action so if you buy a new weapon when you already have one, the weight adds on and likewise for dropping a weapon and picking up another.

Re: Server Issues - Bug report

Lately maybe within the last week or it could be longer shorter then. When waiting for an enemy to come around a corner instead of them just creepin or running around a corner I see them just all of a sudden pop out. ITs very irritating because the way they pop out its like they already got the drop on me.

This is due to detox our anti cheat tool. Hopefully some bugs can be worked out with it.

Re: Server Issues - Bug report

Not really a bug but the latest additions to the map rotation (de_forest, de_residentevil2 etc) haven't been added to the map vote listing yet.

On the ZH server whenever the map zh_dark_cbble_48f.bsp is loaded. it forces a disconnect of all players. THe map has to be manually downloaded by an admin and then the map has to be changed.

Re: Server Issues - Bug report

A few people have been having severe lag spikes (myself included). Seems to be only on S1. Not sure whats going on as I am basically dumb when it comes to this.

Re: Server Issues - Bug report

Two problems came up last night:

cs_cityride - the automatic download from the server for the map failed to download for those players that didn't have it forcing them to get the map from FPS Banana or another map site. We had a full server going into this one but ended up with just three players to start the first round because of the problem.

de_sidewalk_tg - the mini-map seems to have reverted back to the original version as it was displaying the double bombspots again instead of the single ones for the TG version of the map.

Re: Server Issues - Bug report

During the tournament on sunday, server two was ungoing a decent amount of lag. Not sure about server one, but it was bad on two.

Also, I have been experiences sever lag spikes where it rebuys all your weapons while you are running and such. I know it is not just me, because others were saying it was happening to them as well. If it is something that needs to be adjusted on our individual systems, please let me know. It has become a major pain and makes me not want to play until it stops.
