Re: New Map Concept

The Hostages will all be in the cellblock, a single area in seperate cells all opened by the "control room". The reason I would have 6 is because this map will be very difficult to win for the CT and it should be well worth it to win it by rescue and not by DM.

Re: New Map Concept

Are you planning on having them in cells right next to eachother.. or on say different floors...? Maybe they could change cells randomly like havana!!!! Now that would be cool... I suppose a proper overview would be in order..

Re: New Map Concept

I thought about randomizing the Hostage spawns for instance having one spawn in the upper floors of the building as if it were hiding from the terrorists, But not in the same place every round the one would spawn in one of 3 rooms. ie.. a bedroom, closet or some other remote room far from both the control room and the cellblock I am going to post a link to a slideshow of some preliminary shots of the cellblock and the "blast wall"

Re: New Map Concept

This sounds like an awsome idea for a map, and the screenshots are making it look quite promissing. Now all you need is a catchy name to go with it and in a bit it will be the new office or dust2.

Re: New Map Concept

Sounds like it would be very fun to play on, unless the hosties are closer together, it would be hard for T's to hold them all because they'd be a bit spread out, but that's the fun of it =). Good work. Can't wait to play it.

Once I am happy with it I will release it for beta testing and post the forums for everyones input on a name, though I am leaning toward the name of cs_uncommonvalor

Re: New Map Concept

Since it has objectives, maybe you should consider coming up with a new prefix instead of CS?

Keep in mind I am a slow mapper. This project will take upto 4 to 6 weeks due to my work hrs. I will try to have a beta test out in 2 weeks time.

Re: New Map Concept

You know what would be badass? The terrorists have 45 seconds to lead the hostages to different spots in the general T spawn area, so each round would be a little different. It would have to be a change to the mod, though, instead of something that mapping could do, and there'd be alot of possible bugs or unfair advantages for the terrorist, like putting them all together into a cluster or leading them into a near impossible to reach area.

CS had this back in the day... and valve changed it and made it impossible for Ts to move hosties.... this due to the fact that Ts were moving them to impossible places.

Re: New Map Concept

Having all the hostages in one spot tends to turn CS maps into a final standoff/deathmatch shootout at the hostage area. Random hostage spawn would be cool, with maybe a couple cellblocks instead of just one. It would also allow piecemeal rescues and regroups.

Re: New Map Concept

This map/idea sounds really promising, NOT gonna lie when i heard you were making a map i did not know what to expect. It sounds pretty solid and holding that control room would be pretty fun. One idea for the control room would be having cameras that would show different areas of the map (like a real control room). Maybe the possibility to lock/unlock certain rooms/doors from the room also(maybe lock one set of doors it opens another), not the ability to totally lock the building down but just to add a little control aspect to it. no pun intended... well maybe it was... I got tons of ideas rushing through my tiny brain right now heh. This is just a couple i thought of quicklike.

Re: New Map Concept

Oh, and to add to this control room idea. How about light switches bwaaahahahahaaaa.

I am dissapointed that so many maps do not bear in mind the CT nightvision distinction, it'd be really nice to see some of that in play, or hell even flashlights. It would add more tactical dimensions to the game.

Re: New Map Concept

Idea: have some cells open, some cells closed, or something like that, so the terrorists have more than one objective to guard.

Re: New Map Concept

My only suggestion is that there should be two control rooms, one for each set of hostees. If not, I would think all of the T's would camp the single control room since you cant get hostees without first taking over control room. UNLESS, control is closer to CT spawn than it is T-spawn
