Yeah, Alcatraz was designed so that prisoners could be gunned down easily if they escaped.

Re: New Map Concept

Keep rememberin this idea while in game, then I forget it by the time I come to the forums. Ok, I think that having weapons caches for both teams giving the proper amount of each type of weapon would be good. Like say an armory with 4 AKs 2 Kriegs and a scout would be pretty awesome. And by an APC that the CTs would be arriving in, have the CT weapon set availiable. Just tying in the fact that ur making a map with the thread in the dev forum.
-------------------
For level design, possible placing doors that have to unlocked via a well placed round or two in the non locked down areas.
Also, that glass that shatters, but cant be jumped through until knocked out is pretty sweet(from the map where B is in the control room w/ a sliding blast door), I think wire meshed glass would fit better but the other glass is just cool.

An armory would be sweet on non-n00b nights.

Re: New Map Concept

I am greatful for all the ideas, but I must say that you really should take your ideas and design your own maps. The premise of my map does not support a weapons cache. And I have no Idea what you mean by "B" by the control room. There is no B and no control room as of yet..lol. Again.. thanks for the ideas. Keep them coming if you dont want to make your own maps. I may or may not use them.

Re: New Map Concept

I like your original idea of taking a power supply to open the hostage area up.

Maybe that power supply could be rerouted from the lighting system so that the rescue could be partly in the dark.

Never seen a map yet where nightvision was imperitive.

How's this map coming on btw?

Peace n that, ennit?

Re: New Map Concept

There should be bullet-proof glass in the control room that you can only see through from one side (it would look like a mirror on the other side) looking down a hallway or something. Is that possible?

Re: New Map Concept

It seems realistic to have bullet-proof glass in highly secured areas, like prisons.

Re: New Map Concept

Prison security is cheap? Well, of course--we want as much of an advantage over any assaulting individuals as possible.

Re: New Map Concept

It would make capturing the control room essential. If this isn't what you want, don't do it.

Re: New Map Concept

You need to read my original post of the concept. The control room is essential, you have to capture it to release the hostages from thier cells.

Re: New Map Concept

This would give whoever captures the control room more of an advantage.

In a hostage situation, it's not a race to the objectives. The terrorists already control them, and the counter-terrorists need to take them (with force). Otherwise, it becomes a deathmatch.
