Because in reality someone using the AWP would be miles away, not running after them with a Desert eagle when they come too close.

My favourite weapons are (in order):

FAMAS, P228, MP5, M4A1, AK-47, Krieg.

• FAMAS - works great at long range on burst fire & can be very dangerous on automatic at close range if you know how to aim it.
• P228 - as everyone seems to be in agreement, good amount of ammo and quite accurate!
• MP5 - Brilliant grouping and the burst is pretty effective as long range.
• M4A1 - Pretty much two different weapons in one depending on wether or not you use the silencer. Or am I imagining things? :P
• AK-47 - Clumsy and lucky.
• Krieg - Rapid fire-rate when not zoomed, -OKAY- single shot accuracy at long range.

On the first round of a game, the best combo (in my opinion) has to be:
Kevlar Vest & Helm + P228 + Defuse Kit + MP5 (sometimes)

Using sniper rifles AT ALL on small maps with no real range is completely unrealistic. If it were up to me, I'd have some code in-place to decide which maps allow the purchasing of the scout, also. :P

Getting better with a shotgun and the famas is rapidly becoming my favorite over the M4. On the T side, I still don't like the rifles that well, but the galil is my best of them, at least it can aim straight.

Getting better with the compact... becoming my favorite pistol.

With the scout, I just don't have that snap shot ability that many of you do. I'm working on it. I usually try to buy it once or twice per map just to work on it, but only 1 or twice so I don't hurt my team too much.

Skylark i suggest going to a map like aim ag texture 2 if you have never been there. Its ideal for trying to practice with a certain weapon. Of course it is not a tactical map what so ever so you rounds go fast. I normally find myself in on that map because its perfectly sized for long range shots and up close battles come up quickly giving you practice with that compact you have been working on. I normally find myself on that map when TG is full or when its empty to get some fun practice on the nubs =D

Finesse over firepower any day! and because I'm a really bad shot it gives me a few more seconds to shoot the other guy in the back before he discovers where I'm hiding 8)

I'm getting so much better with the famas. I think it is my favorite weapon now. That 3 round burst has gotten me many a headshot at range. Of course, you need to remember to change to automatic at close range or you might eat lead.

For Terrorist I love using:

Elites - I can throw bullets from these things
Krieg - My long range choice
AK-47 - My Standard
MP5 - My close range choice

For Counter-Terrorist:

USP - Silent and covert
MP5 - Close range, standard tactical equipment
M4A1 - Long range and covert
Famas - I seem to be getting better with this one, the 3 round burst is NICE!

For both teams, any time I can get a M249 makes me a happy player. Although it's mainly a support weapon it has a variety of uses. It seems to cover all ranges well, has abundant ammunition, and is accurate when used correctly. I try to snipe with it when I get the right shot, It's great for making/removing barricades, cuts through most obstacles shot, and I won't hesitate to use to use the ammunition to throw lead down a corridor to allow my team to pass safely. M249(Para) FTW!

The M249 is a very, very underrated defensive gun. Take this baby to an openable door and just let loose everytime someone opens it. When I can afford it on maps like arcticstorm, man, they ain't going to make it past sewer door.

Usually the M4 + the P228.
Or if I'm running a bit low on cash, I usually just stick with the starter pistol, The pickup a weapon from a fallen comrade.

Apparently the P228 has better body armor piercing properties out of all the pistols.
Just a rumor though.
