Re: Jumping over railings while under fire
Jumping over a railing while underfire should be entirely legit. I Agree with Previous posts in saying that jumping up and down like a moron is "Crackjumping" but if your in a 'life of death situation' then i would say that even the SWAT teams are going to jump for cover be it they jump a railing, box, or whatever else they think they can get to, to keep themselves alive

Re: Jumping over railings while under fire
If you are simply jumping to avoid bullets then yes it would be "Crackjumping" however if you have found yourself in need of cover due to on-coming engagements, such as your guarding the bombsite and can hear movement, of course you are going to quickly seek out cover if you are not already there. If indeed the quickest way is the clear a box, railing or other manner of obstacle then jumping over it should be fine. I am not supporting nor suggesting that people simple jump like mad men while they are being shot at. Realism CS is not an old Mobster move were they say Dance and shoot bullets at your feet.

Re: Jumping over railings while under fire
Ok guys lets read the SOP really fast
"Crackjumping? Crackjumping is jumping for ANY reason EXCEPT to get onto objects such as boxes and railings."
Ok that cover being fired upon and basically trying to jump over a barrel behind you or a rail in front of you. If that jump leads you to some sort of cover then that is fine. But if you jump to ad void being hit while in the open with nothing blocking your path of moment then you are crack jumping ok.

Re: Jumping over railings while under fire
Personally I always try to stand near some sort of rail, box, television set, phone receiver, plant, glass bottle, or banana bunch so I have a good obstacle to jump over during a firefight. It's gotten so bad that I just carry around bananas with me on a bomb rush.
But seriously, if you have to jump to get somewhere that is normally legit, it doesn't matter if you are being shot/shot at 1 bit. TAKE COVER!!!!
