A little thought that went through my head the other day...
Okay I need to know if this can be done:
A script that swaps CT spawnpoints with T spawnpoints.
Why?
Defusal assault missions. (script: extend bomb timer) <<this might be a bad idea regardless though, more interested in the following idea
Hostage escape missions. (script: kill hostages acceptable, victory for T's if all are terminated)
No client side change.
Oh yeah.
Mhm.

Re: A little thought that went through my head the other day...
While there might not be a script to do these specificly, I've often thought about creating a map with those kind of scenarios. It wouldn't be any extra work (aside from the hundreds of hours it takes to actually build the map)
I discussed the "escort" style hostage missions with Root once, and he pointed out that for a pub server, it would be a headache to try and explain to people that "sometimes it is ok to kill hostages, sometimes not." We didn't really want to open that can of worms.
I just figured no one would be interested in playing something like that as the CS:S community usually frowns on any sort of alternative gameplay maps. If the interest is indeed great enough, i'd be happy to whip up an alpha for playtesting

The switching spawns for a bomb site sounds interesting. Would have to increase the timer to something like 4-5 mins but it would be really fun to see how the t's defend on something like Dust 2.
Would you have to rebuild the whole map? Or can you edit dust 2 for these sort of changes?

I played a Best Buy map (Normally a hostage map) into a Hostage Rescue AND bomb map. It was a race to rescue the hosties and defend at the same time…
It was fun, a little switch from the norm and you had to plan a couple things at once but then again it was a ‘run n gun’ server so there was not much planning…

Re: A little thought that went through my head the other day...
We used to have an AWESOME double objective map on our server years ago... I think it was called csde_tropic? The graphics weren't the best, but the balanced layout and the introduction of serious strategy into the game was fantastic. Do you split up your team and try to go offense and defense at the same time? Do you defend for the first half and then if the other team is defending too, do you attack? Do you stay on defense? Go all out on offense right from the start? The variety was spectacular!
On any other server (and even on ours when there were too many pubbies), it was a boring deathmatch map, but put a bunch of PCS players on there, that were actually interested in the objectives, and it was a beautiful thing!Become a supporting member!

I like the idea of a double objective map. I think that it would be somewhat of a welcome change to the servers to add at least one map in rotation. Or maybe on standby for a captains game

I remember playing csde_walmart back in old CS. That was a fun map, tricky because you want to save the hosties... but those bombs are about to go off...
how would the auto slay feature work with the two objectives?

We tried a double objective map a while ago, and the results were disappointing. Perhaps though, it was down to the map itself. I remain open to further map suggestions.

i like the idea of eliminating the hosties before the t's can stop us
that might be a fun way of playing on the tactical gamer server
