Re: Suggestion
About the crackjumping, i think in diff situations it would relate to real life verry much. in a wide open space (no cover to get to) and you have no bullets left in your gun, what are you gonna do? Hit the floor and crawl slowly? Or are you gonna jump around and run like crazy for cover? Also, remember in real life its a lot harder to hit a target 20 yards away while moving around trust me. If you dont think so, hit up your local shooting range and see for yourself. Plus, i think it would be just as easy to aim towards the floor if someone was laying down (like in the wonderful game DOD). As for tacticly, i could understand jumping around to avoid fire is taking advantage of the game.

Re: Suggestion
I'd probably forgo the bunny hopping for zig-zagging faster than I ever have- that's what adrenaline boosts are for :P
(I wonder how hard it would be to implement a dash in CSS. Of course, it probably wouldn't be too welcome here because we try to slow things down, but it could be VERY helpful in dealing with getting ambushed and being unable to bounce around out of the attacker's crosshair.)

Re: Suggestion
The very-similar-to-counterstirke Quake 3 Mod "Urban Terror" had a sprint feature. It added so much to the game in terms of strategy that when I moved to CS I sincerely missed it's presence.
...course, Urban Terror had CTF gameplay too. Seriously, why the heck isn't there CTF for CS:S? Ugh.

Re: Suggestion
I don't see why a sprint would go against our style of play. Moving very quickly for a very brief time isn't such a bad idea, but it would have to totally FUBAR your aim while you're sprinting, not to mention being a bit noisey. In the right situation, it's useable though.

Re: Suggestion
I've found strafing at run speed actually improves the accuracy of a gun in CS...particularly the scout and dualies. I do it often, but it could just be me.
EDIT: I just noticed this was about adding a sprint option. Nevermind! But yeah, I agree...a sprint should totally fubar the aim.

Re: Suggestion
Does anyone think this one could actually happen though? I've seen modded servers rip models and stuff from HL2, why not sprinting?

Re: Suggestion
Running/sprinting is a good idea but only when used to run/sprint to or from a specific location or to extract out.
The problem with sprint, at least with DoD:S is when people use it to jump really fast, side to side while engaging you in a gunbattle while still maintaining the ability to strafe with an automatic weapon.
This is very "video-game like" behavior and unrealistic imo.

A battle is dynamic, i.e constantly changing and evolving. Follow the strategy in place but never be afraid to improvise if the situation calls for it.
All I ask for is communication

Re: Suggestion
So has anyone actually seen any servers using something like it? Or does anyone know how to actually make this?

Re: Suggestion
I think sprinting would be fantastic! of course youd have to inforce that crack jumping thing even more... When i play dod-s i notice its a normal thing for players to jump around and sprint like crazy when there taking fire esp when they have no idea where its coming from.
Overall i think it would be great in css, might be a head ache for the admins to inforce tho.

Re: Suggestion
In real life I often bend over backwards to avoid bullets, like in that one movie, I think it was called the Matrix or something...
Anyways I'd like to see that implemented since that happens to me at least once a week in real life...
