Re: Gun Jams?
query $playername
if $playername = "skylark" then gunjamchance = 0
if $playername <> "skylark" then gunjamchance =55
This way I might be able to actually WIN!
And the drink spillage would result in those random letter keys occuring due to the short across the contacts.

Re: Gun Jams?
I don't know if it's a mouse problem or what. (I haven't tried a different mouse yet, but I should) I'm sure some of you have seen it happen to me, or you've heard me complain about it (in which case you probably don't believe me, but I swear it's true.). Every now and then I will be shooting at someone or hitting the fire button to start shooting someone and my weapon switches. It happens on the first shot most of the time, but will also happen on the second or third. Doesn't matter what gun it is. And it will just switch to a random other weapon like a grenade, the bomb, my knife. It really sucks and it is most likely a mouse problem that I should probably invest in correcting. There have been times where it has happen and I still managed to get the kill by switching back or my knife came out and i just slashed away since it was most convenient, but this usualy gets me killed.
I've also hit mouse 1 before and had absolutely nothing happen. That really is like a gun jam. It sucks. Click but no fire. Or i'll spray, but not let go of the mouse button... and the spray will stop. Gun jam.
It's real.. I'm not making it up. Probably my mouse. Intelimouse Optical circa 1999.

Re: Gun Jams?
That's pretty old. I had an optical mouse start acting weird on me and had to replace it. Sounds like you need to do that also.

The only guns that should jam should be the terrorists.
The CTs can be compensated by receiving random phone calls from their nagging wives.

Re: Gun Jams?
I would like a script that takes into account our real body mass and works out how atheletic we would be in game lol, also if the computer scan my eyes and relised I was very short sighted and then translated that over to the game so that I would barely hit anything.
Obviously these are jokes, some aspects of 'realism' are a joke. There are enough hick ups in the game that we can use are imaginations to think of as gun jams and such.

Re: Gun Jams?
Interesting point, but isn't CSS supposed to simulate an "event" that lasts all of 5-10 minutes? Surely even the biggest slouches in the international counterterrorism/terrorism community can keep their equipment clean for THAT long, right? In a game like AA, where the situation is that you are, and have been, posted outside for long periods of time.. well I can see the realism of it, but idk about CSS. Anyways, cool thread!

Re: Gun Jams?
Can we find any real-life data about how often this occurs? If we could, then we could set the % to that. IT would probably be like 0.01% or something. (that's once in every 10,000 bullets)

When your dealing with realism is there a fine line? Maybe not all the guns but some of the guns that are known for it. Plus if your defending a site all day, when the team scores are, example 4 T's 5 CT's. Isn't it Time for some jamage? Because isnt each round just a wave of good versus evil?
