Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
I prefer to spray and pray at any range. Luck will grant me victory.
And i reload whenever i am not being shot at.

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
I like to reload and have an enemy step around the corner and shoot me while I stand there like a dork. I also like the similar situation where you pull a nade out.

I just use a sniper! No automatic firing there

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
Yes, cl_dynamiccrosshair 0 is legal. Just because the crosshair doesn't show the recoil for movement, doesn't mean it's not there... Kind of like SourceTV demos.
Spray patterns are pretty easy to get. AKs the shape of the letter T after you waste a clip. Up, left, right I believe. The M4 makes a backward 7 when you spray it, which does indeed make it easier to spray.
To compensate, you just have to practice your spray pattern (Btw, the tic of the server does effect the rate of fire of a gun, a 100tic server being faster than a 66tic, etc.) You can't really explain how to control recoil over a forum, so follow everyone else's advice...Create a server and type "sv_showimpacts 1" and "sv_cheats 1" into the console. Find a wall you like and type in console (or bind it to a key) "give weapon_ak47" // "bind key "give weapon_ak47"". Just spawn as many AKs as you need and practice. Of course, the fact that a server you'd make on your computer will probably be 33 tic, it will be a little different in a 66tic and 100tic server. So, you know...
As for reloading? From my experience of CAL-O/IM/M I've learned to NEVER reload unless you have less than 15 bullets. Reloading with more than 15 bullets is a waste, considering with an AK it takes 1 shot to kill, with an M4 either 1 or 2. Also, if you're less than 15 bullets...say 12 bullets, don't reload in the middle of a gunfight...Thats all I really have to say about that.
Well, that about sums up everything I have to say...but here's some tips for everyone.
1. Spraying is bad, stay away from it.
2. Don't just tap the shoot key, that tends to get inaccurate really fast.
3. Burst in increments of 2-3, unless conditions say otherwise.
4. Never switch to your pistol if your primary still has ammo in it.
5. Actually aim.

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
2 -3 round bursts always at long range, even better is a single shot when using the ak. at close range its definetely a necessity to learn how to spray. spraying ur weapon may seem noob at times, but really it can b an excellent tactic in a tight situation.. so take some time to learn ur weapons and how the fire, u wont regret it.. and for u reload junkies, dont be afraid to let ur clip get down to 8 rounds. alot times ur reload is gonna give ur position away or get u caught up. have faith in ur skills and always have ur pistol in ur quick switch ;]

2. When you crouch, you usually see your crosshair become smaller, or tighter if you will. With this command, however, your crosshair will look the same when u are crouched as it does when u are standing.
While shooting weapons your crosshair still expands as normal.

I never knew this but I like the idea of the crosshairs not becoming tighter when I crouch as it can be difficult to spot movement from a distance when your crosshairs are so close together. Ya learn something new every day!

P90 and para! woot! lots of ammo! esp when you're blinded by a flash and you know someone is coming through that door.

My name is Skylark and I am a reload junkie. It has been 1 kill since my last reload. I reloaded when I still had 83 bullets in my para... <SOB>

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
I never let my bullets drop to below 20. Not unless I'm in a spot that would immediately give my position away. But then again, most of the time people are aware of me, since I reload as soon as I'm out of immediate danger, immediate danger being a fire fight.
As for bursts, Famas is the king of bursts. M4 is next, for the relatively low recoil. AK is good, but don't panic. Don't be afraid to wait a fair bit of time between bursts, or you're gonna end up dying, fast. I speak from a lot of experience.
Spraying... Well, at ranges that I can't make out the color of the enemy's eyes, I can't hit anything with an AK. Some can, but I'll be damned if I could hit a wall in a barn spraying with that beast. M4, on the other hand, is good for spraying at mid range. There's a gun no one should be missing with while letting loose. But the absolute king of Spray-and-pray guns is the P90. Big clip, good accuracy at a range, fast ROF... What more could a noob like me want?

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
15-20 bullets should be your benchmark. Anything below that means you can run out of bullets in a fire fight.
15-20 bullets means that you can fire off about 3-4 controlled bursts. You should never spend any more of that time out in the open. If you don't have cover after those 3-4 bursts, you're doing it wrong. And if you're caught off guards in close quarters and run out of those 15-20 bullets then you're already dead.

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
Use MP5 and aim for the throat or central mass. Problem solved.

Re: How do you control the recoil of your weapon??
see what i have problems is judging the distance of the maps...... i know that some pubs (i know where no pub) when you die tell you the distance that you died from and the weapon that killed you. so then how do you know how to judge the distance and at what angle to make your spread, and then on top of that the spread dispersion that the weapons themselves take

First thing I would suggest is pick 1 weapon to use for each team, and stick with it for like 3 years. No joke. The more you use it the more you will instinctively get a feel for the weapon's recoil.
The next thing I would suggest is try not to spray at all. I have taught many of my roommates and friends to play CS by telling them only to use deagle for a month or so, then pick up an AK and use it the same way. Once they get the hang of that, learning to use controlled bursts becomes intuitive.
Personally, I have always been aware of the "directional" nature of the recoils from the guns, but pay it little mind, because since I have been using primarily an AK and m4 for many years, just sorta got a feel for it. Out of all the guns allowed on TG, with the possible exception of a scout (but probably not) the AK is the most capable of sustained damage and high range, but you have to know the rate to fire based on distance, your own movement, and a hundred other nuances that only come through experience. Well, good luck.
