Re: Demo Discussion
Yeah, episode 2 doesn't have that replayability factor with it. I'd say its an astounding game, and some of the sequences were perfect. As for calling Crysis game of the year, before its out, thats aggressive. Unless they seriously take time to work on some of the multiplayer issues, its gonna be a SP powerhouse at the most.
On the other hand, the open-ness of just this mission really makes it fun to play through a few times. Like today, I went about the later half of the mission completely differently. I tried distracting enemies by throwing bottles to make some noise, putting more and more of them to sleep, dragging a few into the jungle silently, etc. And when you have to go investigate that penisula, I decided to swim out past it and circle back around. Actually, when you're up there, go to the small shack thats just behind the boardwalk, facing the open ocean. There's a radio in it that plays a bit of a news report discussing some background about the situation and NK/US relations.

Re: Demo Discussion
I would go as far as saying CoD4 has no chance in hell of winning MP game of the year.
Not on the PC atleast. ETQW, UT3, Crysis, and TF2 says otherwise.

Re: Demo Discussion
I have a question: I've heard this level has nlood effects and stuff like that, and I think it's gonna be a 15 in the UK, but what sort of levels of gore are we talking here? Is it the Call of Duty 'spray' of blood, the Half Life 'cover the nearest wall in blood' or something else? I'm just asking cause I'm a bit iffy with blood effects, too much can ruin a game for me.

Re: Demo Discussion
The only blood I really notice is the small pools of blood under dead bodies. There might be more on higher settings, I'm on medium, but it's hardly in your face. There is also a 'blood' checkbox option if you don't want any at all. It defaults to no blood.
It's certainly no Soldier of Fortune 3.

Re: Demo Discussion
Ok that SoF video is just sickening, thanks for the info. I dont mind a bit of blood in games but only in moderation. Theres a good bit in the CoD4 demo where if you shoot a certain guy he'll be lying in a spreading pool of blood, but it's a one off (scripted).

Re: Demo Discussion
Yeah, Crytek is based out of Germany, and they have strong laws governing video game violence, or so I've heard. I believe that is why you cannot interact directly with dead bodies in game.

Re: Demo Discussion
I have no problem with SOF violence but SOF3 is just bad.
I see no hope for that game what so ever. Raven isn't even developing it.

EDIT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldier...tune:_Pay_Back This game will be the first game of the series released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 On the 16th of October 2007, the game was refused classification by Australia's federal classification board, the Office of Film & Literature Classification. This effectively bans the game throughout Australia as video games which have been refused classification by the OFLC cannot be sold, advertised or imported
