EA Pre-Order - Play the demo Thursday!
I just noticed this. Besides playing the demo 24 hours early, looks like some extras included. I was thinking of pre-ordering on their direct download service so this may seal the deal.

I'm gonna have to stay away from this one with all the issues I've had with 2142 with EA Link/Downloader. Its convenient to not have to have the disc in the drive to play, but redownloading when the client decides it wants to screw you over is something I'm not wanting to do any longer.

or get the dvd based one and replace the .exe file with a no-cd .exe version. The one for 2142 is very stable, haven't any new problems since I started using it. Hopefully there will be one for Crysis.

Yeah, you can download them and have them backed up, but when EA decided they wanted to update their store client, I lost my 2142 installation files. I don't really mind the DVD in and out much, so its not too big of deal.

Yeah I'm thinking about this since I know I am buying it, but if EA doesn't accept paypal, no thanks :|

Re: EA Pre-Order - Play the demo Thursday!
I've had a problem with every download service that is not Steam, but I really like not having DVDs when I play games. Nothing annoys me more then swapping DVDs.
Price wise its better for me to buy digital downloads now since the Canadian Dollar is cheaper then the American dollar. Although PC games tend to be $40 when they release.
Pre-ordering just for the demo is kind of stupid.
