The list for resolutions is scrollable, so the highest resolution is cut off and looks like it is not supported. Just scroll down to get the highest.

I was able to run everything on high with a 3 year old system and a 1 year old X1950 Pro, but once the physics came in play, things got kind o' laggy.
I play at 1920*1200 no problems on medium settings (Single 8800GTS for now, got one on the way).

Im going to wait for the new ultra high end's to come out, no need in going for the GT's 512mb, my tad slower 320's will do well on my 24" Ultrasharp.

Oh great lol, just put in a 8800 GTS 320mb O/C 2 from BFG (580MHZ, 1700 MHZ mem clock, didnt want to go to the higher MB cards. I suppose this isn't going to be able to do Crysis and the like proper justice. Any suggestions. Should I put in a 2nd 320 in SLI (AMD 64 2.42 dual core) or hold off and look at upgrading processor and gfx card in a years time?

Any suggestions would be welcome guys as it looks like I've just stuffed up my first upgrade.

    Cheers.

I'll update once i get my second one in SLI, it hasnt arrived yet.

From what I've read, the GT is only getting like 3-8 FPS more on resolutions below 1680x1050, and anything above, the 320 is lagging behind 15-20 FPS. They should drop the prices on the 320's to below the $180 mark. The 640 is the sweet spot if you've invested in those instead (Like I should have).

All these benchmarks show the GT beating the GTS 640 quit handily at high resolution with medium and high settings.

    Holy sh-

Well, its a good thing I'm satisfied with my 8600GTS. That's right, 8600. It's crazy how the 8600GTS was mid range 4 months ago. Whew.

Great deal, if my card poos out, I'll invest in the next "mid range"

What should i do??? I really want a 8800 ultra just to get some milage without upgrading but I'll have to ebay for an under $500 price tag, and then how do i know if i need to upgrade the voltage (or something)??? If someone could just tell my when the 9000 series will be out? Then there is rumor of another nvidia card release on the 17th of november?? What to do? My 7900 512mb was cool for all of three months -poop

When was the 8600 ever a "mid range" card? It was always ****.

There's also the new 640 8800GTS which seems to perform about the same as the 8800GT, although is more expensive.

unless you run insane resolutions the 8800 ultra is an utter crap waste of money. so is the GTX now that this is out. if you where giong to buy a high end 8800 to get your moneys worth it should have been in the first few months. Nvidia is in their development cycle and the 9 series will be out sometime next year. paying 500 dollars for a graphics card that runs this game at Very high/High settings at only reasonable frames isn't worth it. buy the GT and wait for the 9 series.

i got my 8800GTX release week, after seeing my card hold champ for so long (Besides the ultra) i start to laugh remembering how so many ATI fanboi's where telling me how the 2900 was going to smack my card in the face. nothing has yet to smack my card in the face............except the 8800Ultra and the Quadro cards from Nvidia (those dont count since they're developer cards and cost 2 grand)

agreed, 8600 was always considered crap from the start, runs like a 7900 with DX10.

So should i rock a overclocked GTX or just be happy with the GT purchase. I also want to run dvi/hdmi (for HDTV) which the GT should have i hope.

Bash the 8600GTS all you want, but I buy video cards based on what I KNOW I'll be playing. Not to boast how huge my weiner is on a forum. Rock solid performance on all the games I play.

People get so worked up over it...

BTW, calling a 7900 crap is absurd.

Honestly go for the 8800gt its faster then the gts and just slightly slower then the gtx plus it will leave you money to upgrade to the 9 series

@skud-good for you. I buy for what I'm going to play also. Therefor I have a gtx, i hear the 8600 has a very hard time with crysis. Given that the game is a bit loose for my "weiner". I can't turn everything to very high, well everything but post processing

Got my EVGA 8800GT Superclocked this morning and holy crap. When you turn stuff up, the playing experience can really change. I played that frozen island map and the fog effects are pretty cool. The same map with everything turned down to medium / low, everything is still clear until you hit the specific draw distance that the fog gives. With the real fog effect it's much more immersive and harder to pick out enemies.
