Re: Opinions - Single Player
Please do not post spoilers here!!!!! No one wants this game ruined for them. I'll start a spoiler thread.

Re: Opinions - Single Player
Damn. Still stuck at the TAC launcher part of the SP game. I am unable to lock the thing on to what I'm supposed to be locking on to. It just says NO TARGET LOCKED. Maybe I'll restart the level at the beginning.
EDIT: Managed to get past after restarting the level and specifically running the 32bit version. Got stuck again a little later on, so another start from an earlier position, but that's the end of the game. I'll leave spoilers to the spoiler thread.

Re: Opinions - Single Player
i didnt know. spoilers are anything and everything, some worse than others. Not everyone knows what you do about the game.
anyways, some of the firefights you get into are intense! You really feel like youre getting surrounded sometimes and cloak and speed become vital for repositioning. and man, i could feel my rig pleading with me to take a break...i think it was melting. |

Re: Opinions - Single Player
I recently just loaded it up and been playing it. So far the impressions are pretty good. Somewhat like Farcry 2.0 if you ignore all the actual sequals to Farcry. I'm loving the suit, but the fact that you can't swim and you are very very squishy in a nanofiber multimillion dollar full body armor of awesome does seem kinda odd.
The fact that you can pick up birds and wild life and have them in your arms still alive just rocks. I think I played the entire first mission with a chicken under my arm looking all over the place and even pecking me a few times. First thing I did when I got to the second mission was pick up a ground bird where it proceeded to do the same. Sucks that they automatically die when you put them down/punt them away. Finding new tactical modules for your weapons are kinda nice. Interesting ways to bring old favorites to life like dual silenced laser sight pistols or slapping a medium/longrange scope onto your trusty assault rifle. Can't figure out what the tactical attachment for the rifles are for though. Is it the needle launcher? While unlimited ammo that's instant kill/stun is nice the long cooldown makes it somewhat difficult to use when pressed. However some of those mods completely negate the need for other weapons. What's the point of the precision sniper rifle that has its own ammo but shares scopes and accuracy with the assault rifles and can't be silenced? Maybe I'm not far enough along, but I've just stolen the new scopes and slapped them on my old rifles since they can silence instead of using the new louder stuff. Still a great game and very pretty so far. I just hope things don't go down hill as fast as Farcry did after meeting the beasts. -.-

Re: Opinions - Single Player
The high power rifle can give you an instant kill with a body hit, while the standard rifle needs a head shot. That, and faster bullets/less bullet drop is the only difference I can see. It's good for taking out the boat gunners. With the standard rifle you need to lead a moving target alot at distance.
Tactical attachment is the sleep bullet. I find it pretty useless, but I guess you can try to get through the entire game just using the tactical attachment on soldiers. That would be a challenge.

Re: Opinions - Single Player
You can swim in Crysis. You can swim forever cause you don't have an oxygen meter due to your suit. My favorite thing to do is swim to the gun boat, jump into it and kill the gunner and driver and take the boat GTA style. Plus your speed ability works in water to so you can swim faster than the boat.
The tactical attachment is a needle that stuns enemies. They eventually get up after you stun them though. |
