Interested in making a Cryation?

I have been reading up a little bit about creating Maps for Crysis with their Sandbox Editor. I was wondering if anyone had the same interests and would like to team up and make a "Tactical" style map that could someday be worthy of being on the "Crysis Tactical Gamer's Server" if there happens to ever be one. I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to C++ and other programing languages.

im up for map making, im not very skilled at Scripting. but Sandbox2 is very user friendly to the Mapper

Just wondering, do you have any experience with Moddling at all?

not really modding, mapping. got about half way through a map for BF2 but started getting very annoyed with the BF2 tools. i know a little bit of SQS/SQF. not a lot more. if you're looking to make a full tactical conversion mod you'll probably need help outside of TG. i just do maps /missions

Yeah, I'd be down for making a map or two. I don't really think we'd need to know much about scripting or anything if we're just gonna make a map.

In a couple weeks I hope to be getting a new computer, one which runs Crysis with graphics set to Very High. As soon as I get that machine I will be brainstorming what types of maps I could create to best fit a "Tactical" situation.
I was sort of thinking maybe using the ship from the end of Crysis and just add onto it, maybe put the "Terrorist" group start on the lower part of the ship and the "Counter-Terrorist's" on the top and have a power struggle over the reactor in the lower decks of the ship or something.
That is just one idea I have thought, any ideas please PM me or reply in this thread.

If you are interested in making a tactical map for Crysis, you need to check out our mod Obsidian Edge 2.
Our mod is a present day tack shooter for Crysis, and we are always looking for new talent and good maps to put into the release. We have most of the best map makers from FarCry/Sandbox 1, so there is lots of support.

Once I get the game, count me in! I worked with the original Far Cry/Sandbox 1, nothing serious, just some stuff for my computer and LAN (small 1v1 maps and such, nothing big). Also coded a few Call of Duty 2 weapons for more realism on my 3 computer network, it was kind of like a hardcore mode for COD2. I'm getting Crysis mid-December, so keep me informed

I actually looked at that mod a couple days ago and it looks really amazing, was thinking about applying but I don't think I meet the requirements for what is needed. I would love to get into map making, If there is any way I could get some info on what kind of map that would be appropriate for this mod. PM/Email me.

There is a tutorial for the editor in the latest PC-Gamer, I was tempted to buy it just for that. Its was 9$ and I stopped myself. Maybe the tutorial can be found online?

I just installed SandBox 2. I've been delaying since it requires that I turn UAC off to install. Anyway, I loaded it up with the island map. That's pretty complex. Isn't there tutorials on Crymod.com or something? I'm going to look around.

I'll be messing around with Sandbox 2 once I get my new PC (waiting on nforce 780i motherboard to come out) since from what I've seen it's quite similar to the Battlefield editor, but better :P.

Hmm bump, As soon as I get my new rig I may attempt to design a map.

For now im just going to brainstorm, If any of you have any good ideas please post here.

There are tons of tutorials and assistance over at crymod.com
I hope you guys start working with the OE2 guys, because if any mod is going to be TGish, it'd be that one. I don't see vanilla crysis being all that popular among our playerbase, but maybe.
