ever have one of those games...

That everyone else seemed to love, but you just didn't see it, or feel it?

Thats the way I feel about Crysis, everyone I talk to loves it, says it's one of the greatest, so I keep booting it up and trying to play it... then after 30 minutes or so, I'm not feeling it... sure it's pretty and a great idea with the suit and all, but I just can't get into it and it's driving me nuts... I want to like it because everyone else does... but I can't...

ever have one of those games happen to you? lol

Yeah. Except with a BF2 Mod. Project Reality.

actaully, I feel the same way about crysis. Some games are just like that. I don't really even know what it is. It might just be that I am really into CoD4 that I am comparing it to that and it doesn't compare to me.

Its fun, but it really isn't anything special. I read that they are starting work on the 2nd one already, and guess what? They wanna focus on graphics more again!! They said they want to push the envelope with textures and whatnot.

Sure thats great, but I think they should probably make a game that works and has solid gameplay first.

I can agree with this thread, game play was nothing special. I was pretty let down on it, they worked so hard on those graphics though, that part paid off. Even know the game still runs like poo.

No other game makes me feel like more of a bad ass (yet vulnerable) superhero than Crysis.

Some people like to be put on a train and told a story, others like a more open environment to play in. The first one is guaranteed to entertain at some level, if the production level is high enough - the second, assuming the same quality, has the ability to create a much more amazing gameplay experience; but the downside is that it also has the ability to be as boring as the person playing it. Use your imagination, turn down your settings so you get a fluid, immersive, frame rate experience, and pretend your a badass superhero.

Yeah, that is one thing I did love about it: the baddassery.

I am a RPG fan so for me playing Crysis on Delta is awesome the slow game play is perfect, but for example I did not like COD4 that much as it was way to fast, lienear and scripted same with world in conflict. I feel like an old geaser sometimes as I want things to be slower but I feel that a lot of newer games are made for somebody with ADHD. And for example after playing PR I have a hard time enjoying POE.

So its definetly a matter of taste.

One good thing about Crysis is that its worth ihaving if you are into computer graphics or want to stress your latest machine.

I still love it and consider it the best shooter I ever played. I just love that even if your powerful you still have to come up with good ways to attack situations and your options are almost limitless.

Would not play it below Delta though after report about the AI, The AI is good on delta but I am consdidering improving AI with the editor after I finish it once. Just takes me a lot of time to go through the levels on Delta. But the adrenaline rush you get when 12 guys with laser sights heading your way in the forest, and your realize yuor cloak is running out and you know if one guy spot you its all over is priceless.

I love the concept of the game yet haven't played much into it. I like just running around acting like an idiot, or making boats out of lawn furniture. To tell you the truth I haven't even gotten past the part where the Single Player demo ended. I don't really want to get to the alien part because aliens are stupid in a game like this (any game that turns from non sci-fi to sci-fi annoys me).

Running around with Super Strength is just awesome. I need to find a cheat to give me infinite suit power and I'll be happy (not to get through the game, but just to have more fun running around like a jackass).

Favorite things to do in the game so far:
    • Swim under the gun boat, jump into it, kill the driver and gunner and sail away with the boat.
    • Punch trees down so they land on people.
    • Throw people through buildings.
    • Jump 10m into the air into a pack of Soldiers and commence beating them all to death.
    • Making boats out of objects which are propelled by punching.
    • Shooting a patrol car's gas tank causing it to catch on fire and explode while the passengers try to get out.

The thing that makes the game great is it gives me the freedom to do all of this. Compare this to Call of Duty 4 where I fail my mission if I shoot a key actor, which causes me to reload at my last save. Mission failed due to friendly fire? Lame sauce.

Yeah, leaping up from under water, switching to strength in mid-air and wiping them off the boat before hitting the water again is so freakin' awesome.

This is very well said. I much prefer having the freedom to investigate and experiment in a game rather than to be pushed along. I was not that thrilled with COD4, but there are times when it's fun to just sit back and let the story train roll and just shoot everything that moves.

    Looking forward to FarCry 2.

There's already SP maps out there that are fun to play in. I downloaded a couple yesterday to try out.

I think its just the casual gamers that make the "Mods" that everyone likes better than the actual version of the game. That said Thank You to all you modder's out there making these games more fun for the rest of us. Take for instance Obsidian Edge 2 Mod, this mod is going to be the best thing that I hope TG will be a part of and run on a server. It will have many different types of game play Team Elimination, Enemy Territory, All Out War, Defiance and best of all Tactical Strike.

Well, it has a bit of everything. The most quiet level would probably be when you're exploring the innards of the mountain (and even then the action ratchets up in spots). After the aliens truly wake up and start wreaking havoc, it's one long roller coaster to the finale with freedom of movement tossed to the wayside.

Yes, the game lives up too the hype. I'm having a great time playing and like Magnum I play for 30 minutes at a time but for a different reason: I want to extend my playtime and excitement. I can't wait to play on the Delta setting.

Delta was actually pretty fun. Made the game more realistic, in my opinion.

There were a few times when I simply ran away from the aliens instead of fighting them (mainly after getting out of the mountain). :P
