Talking Just Finished

I really liked the sound and the eye candy was good but the story line and play was not to my liking. I just didn't enjoy the last half of this at all. To much go here do this watch the movie scene and the such. My two cents.

Re: Just Finished

The following contains SPOILERS:

I felt sorry for the KLA actually. Poor guys sent what felt like 10,000 guys to either be thrown around by a dude in a super-suit, riddled full of bullets that appear from what seems like thin air, schlocked by alien robots, or freeze dried like fruit. Oh yeah, and nuked.
My hats off to them, tenacious little buggers.

As for the game, the soundtrack and effects were terrific, graphics were outstanding (Got to play the game on high at 1024x768) and gameplay was pretty decent overall. I especially enjoyed the little stint floating around weightless in the alien ACME factory.

I concede that there were some needlessly long bits of no action that the game just puts in to "build up suspense" or something to that effect but really just had me checking every corner expecting to be jumped by unfriendlies.

The gameplay was pretty linear if you look at it as "Watch movie, do this to complete current objective, watch next movie" but I felt there was a certain degree of freedom awarded to us to accomplish the objectives as we saw fit. The linearity of the gameplay served to drive the story forward whereas if I was left to my own devices I'd probably have culled all the trees on the island with a machine gun just to watch the trunks splinter again and again ^_^

With all told I was quite impressed, the "boss fights" if you can call them that were epic. Blowing up shacks and occupants with tanks, discovering the true nature of the island rumblings, and fighting for your survival and the survival of your soldier buddies truly made me feel like the highly trained operative with a super suit I was playing in the game.

Here's looking forward to Crysis 2... or whatever other name they give the next game. Maybe 'Sister' if the naming convention sticks. Don't know what it'll mean, but it'll be good =)
