Did we ever get a Crysis War server up and running for Tactical Gamer?

I mean, this weekend would be the best time to have it, since it's free for the weekend, and every member of TG should download the damn thing and see if we can get this game in a tactical mode... if not, drop it after the free weekend.

Maybe there should be a frontpage announcement about this, to encourage people to try Wars out at the weekend.

IMO... it has potential for a good game, but all the team vs. team maps are way to small for any tactical maneuvering, the exception and the map I play on the most is Battlefield. All the maps can allow up to 32 players, but again IMO, the best rule of thumb is squad vs. squad... which is 9 vs. 9...

Now I have never played that other, much larger game mode... but it looks good if played with teamwork.

The idea behind power struggle is pretty sweet, but its just not working for some reason. Just isn't enough mechanics directly in the game to encourage teamwork it seems.

So, If I just bought Crysis Warhead, I do not need to do this download right.

It is the same thing?

Correct. The download is for people who don't own the game. They can play the MP portion for free over LAN (even after the free weekend) and MP online during this weekend. Although, people who own the game still have access to a cd-key so you can register on mycrysis.com and retrieve that and give it to a buddy

(you can also let a buddy use your disc to install the game and use the free weekend cd-key so they don't have to download anything)

Just to clarify... Crysis Wars is a different download and install then Crysis Warhead. (Crysis Warhead is the SP of the game, while Crysis Wars in the MP component.)

At least it was a different download and install via Steam... maybe the DVD version installs them both, but still a different executable.

The retail boxed version comes with both DVDs.

Thing was, if we, TG, wasn't going to have our own server for this weekend, I was going to rent us one for 30 day, too late now.
