I bought this game out of the Bestbuy bargain bin for 30 bucks. It included the original, Warhead, and Wars. I was wonder if anything decent was happening besides OE.

"I was never much a fan to playing anything online without having to manage my own private server. The Internet Gaming community has evolved to cater to the lowest common denominator and practically ruined my desire to have any part of it. But not here. It is something wonderfully different." - frozenchrome

There are quite a few neat mods that I am looking forward to with this game. The one thing to think about is that they are going to be making crysis 2 will be using dx11.
Here is a list of mods finished and close to being finished, you can also click through the pages to see ones that are being worked on. Crymod

I promise you... Crysis 2 will not be utilizing DX11 even remotely close to its full potential. Crysis 1 was pretty much a DX9 game with DX10 slapped on at the last minute. What do you think Crysis 2 will be like? We all know that Crytek is absolutely amazing and can make the best game engines, but do you really expect for them to adapt a new platform THAT quickly?
For those who don't know..
DirectX11 will give these features:
Tessellation
- Low detailed objects are quickly doubled/tripled/quadrupled in quality and look much more smooth. This is all done on the graphics card hardware, no software involved.
Better Multithreaded (CPU) support
- Game developers are given better tools to make their games more multi-core friendly. Which is a good thing indeed.
DirectCompute
-Things like physics and AI are done on the graphics card instead of the processor. Some programs will also be able to utilize this technology.
DirectX11 is impressive - no doubt about that. However, in the scheme of things its going to take quite a while before any game developer even begins to use this stuff.
After some of the shots us "PCfanboys" have taken, its nice to hear an exec say this about a coming game.
"...Our Crysis 2 team has a clear goal: make the most awesome, innovative, kick ass PC, 360 and PS3 shooter. Being best on each will put Crysis 2 in its place as the best FPS in general.."
