Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
I'll be watching this one closely!
Looks like i'll have to upgrade to dual core, but my 8800gts will still do.

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
So questions is will you be able to play it on just medium or will the though of not playing it on the highest setting make you take a second mortage and get yourself a better computer, that is the question.

Gotta Look into the 8800 when the 9K series come out...
What's the line on the ATI cards? Anything good at that price point?

Yes and YES!
The effects will still be there but as you get to the lower setting it will start to look like FarCry.
To get a really kicking gaming experience. I would upgrade to the latest quad core that is to be released and a top end graphics card from Nvidia. Which with my latest estimate is around 3k in expenses if you have all the peripherals. But that's just me and that's also the reason I don't plan to play this game anytime soon. The upgrade alone would put me back into Gamers Rehab and I just started to get out after I stopped playing 2142.

ATI has suspended all top tier graphics cards. They are no longer at this time in the race to have the greatest card out. I believe they have been redirected to help AMD produce integrated GPU/CPU dies.

If Crysis looks as good on my PC as Far Cry does I'll be very pleased! Far Cry still looks fantastic. I know how you feel though, not being able to play on the higher settings is almost a crime but even at lower it still will look amazing.

Lets just say no one that can run the game will be that disappointed.

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
People with lower specs: It does look good with bad computer too. At first it may look bit cranky with no AA and medium specs but you'll eye gets used to it.
Last impressive game I played was oblivion, Crysis manages to impress me even in medium and high specs. The amount of detail they put in is just awsome.
I can just imagine how this game will look after year when they release the ultra high setting. *drool*

The quad core actually doesnt do anything more then a dual core they said. Just go with a dual.

I'd check that again. Yeah, it'd do something, but in reality, I think one would be fine with a good dual core.
