Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
Glad I got my demo key reserved. Wish the demo would come out earlier than two weeks though.

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
Now that I finshed STALKER for the seconds time I feel lost without another game like this.
Please! Please!
I wish ATI would release their DX10 cards so it would drive the prices down. So far there has been no competition in this area for a long while. Well, 'long while' relative to the hectic pace that the video card industry has been going at for the last few years. The Dirty

Im not a big twitch fan but i actually liked far cry's deathmatch simply due to the fact that the maps were HUGE and you dont die every 2 seconds. Plus, it was a snipers paradise.

That's a pretty awesome video. The "EA HD" thing made me giggle though. I mean, come on. We've been playing in "HD" on PCs for years now.

The lighting is amazing. The vegetation is amazing.
If somebody could combine those graphics with ArmA gameplay I would buy myself a superduper computer to play it.I’m not racists, I have republican friends. Radio show host.

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
Does anyone else have the urge to treat this game like a virtual world and just explore all its nooks and crannies?
I saw the mountains in the last video and thought, "Man, I bet those would be fun to climb."

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
I was just watching a few of the Crysis vids again and noticed that vehicles can take component damage--such as shooting the tire off a moving jeep and having it spin out as a result. Very nice!
Also, the map development tool looks amazing.Twisted Firestarter

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
Indeed. I'm sure this doesn't make a big impression on most people who watch the videos, but the results are going to be absolutely fantastic when you see the quality of the levels created. For them to be showing off such incredible design tools so early is amazing. Look at how long it took for BF2 to have tools which were even fit for public beta! Their level designers had to use their hands as shovels!

Re: HD Crysis DX10 GeForce 8800 Presentation
Yes, there is something to be said about tools that are high-quality and easy to use. For those of you that haven't seen the video, here are some screen caps which show off the game editor. There are lots of interesting things to see from the interface such as:
- Plants have a Pickable property. Herb harvesting, anyone?
- Tanks have a FormationType property.
- There is a whole DX10 object subsection.
- Behaviors are attached to objects. A tank may have a TankIdle behavior. A grunt may have a Job_StandIdle behavior.
- There are 9 different types of Asian tanks. One of them has a gauss gun.
