DX9 limitations in Mutiplayer

Quote:
dx9 MP vs dx10 MP

As for the DX9 version we won’t have physics and day and night cycle in-game. That means you won’t be able to shoot down trees and/or alter any other objects than vehicles on the map. Additionally the time of day setting doesn’t change dynamically. This is caused due to the tremendous server load such physics might cause on crowded gaming servers. Still you will be able to experience maps with different time of day settings since the maps can be altered in the Sandbox2 Editor.

Rather than providing the community partially working features we limit this for the DX10 version only. Due to the strong hardware available with DX10, server load is less and performance is increased. This ensures the pure physics and day and night cycle experience without any limitation.

Gamers with a DX10 card are able to play on DX9 servers, but with the limitation of the respective server. Vice versa it is not possible for gamers with DX9 cards to play on DX10 servers due to the limited features.
Ouch. This is forcing me to play it on Vista.

Are you not going to buy it because of lack of funds? Because you can always dual boot, so you can keep XP for regular use, and just boot into Vista to play Crysis.

Yeah, it's hard to believe the claim, especially with the grammatical errors.

Re: DX9 limitations in Mutiplayer

Ehh, just really worth it for just one game, then again, I've been waiting for forever and a half. Totally would dual boot it though (probably on a completely separate HD too).

Vista is awesome, why wouldn't you want to install it?

Re: DX9 limitations in Mutiplayer

for me vista IS awesome, dont listen to the naysayers. My performance is about the same as xp and dx10 just sells it. There will be plenty of peeps on the dx10s

Re: DX9 limitations in Mutiplayer

I just don't really need/want all the extra frills. Yeah, its great, but its still too new for me to consider using it. Plus, its expensive, and I'd only buy Ultimate to make sure I do get all the things I don't need, because I'll eventually have a use for them.
