Re: Who has the game?
Trial? Hell, you'd be lucky to even purchase a full version.
No, there's no trial. They're wrestling with the problem of very lengthy queues in-game, and as such have basically been trickling out copies daily. As of... last week or so, they basically stopped selling any copies to fix the queue problem.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blah blah blah.

Re: Who has the game?
I was never able to get my account activated, and pretty much quit trying. I still read the the game forums regularly, and there are threads about people already getting bored with it. There's still no NA server, nor looking like there will be one anytime soon, so gonna give MO a try when it launches this summer.

Re: Who has the game?
The queues have been fixed. It was pretty rediculous at some times. You would leave it queuing over night so you'd have spot to play on when you woke up. I remember waiting as long as 2h for a spot. Last time I played it was like 2 second queue - nothing.
Haven't been playing for a while because I noticed Aventurine hadn't billed me for my Darkfall account and my account page said I hadn't bought it - yet I have been playing for three weeks now. I was nice enough guy to tell them that and they closed my account till they can properly bill me this monday.
And yes, I have been watching Mortal Online. Im worried about the zones in that game though. People camping people who are loading the game at the other side of the map etc.|TG| Kebab-Kastike reporting for duty. | Why? Tubes! The internet is tubes!

Re: Who has the game?
The one thing that has really impressed me is the speed at which the improvements that are being called for by the playerbase have come into effect. They are never going to be universally popular (for example people that use macros to 'level up' have been hurt by a succession of rule changes), but on the whole they are working out well.
I really don't understand people who say they are bored of the game already, unless this really is just a game that doesn't suit them. Very much like Eve in this respect, because both games a very open and there is no linear path to follow. You're just free to do anything you want to do. Last night 4 of us headed up to Mahrim lands, and got 4 kills for 1 loss before being driven off once the clan hamlet we hit had rallied their members. Earlier we had done a few quests (broken up by a half-hour chase of some alfar that tried to attack us), hit up a dungeon for a while, and even done some heavy trade spamming (Vix in particular is looking for enchanting items to gear us out a little better).
I also don't get why people insist in calling it a beta. The game is a finished product in as much as any MMO is. Look at the development, patches, expansions and rule tweeks that go into any MMO. The game is no more buggy than any other MMO I have played with the single exception of an annoying UI corruption that happens every now and then when you have teleported. The crash rate is no higher than I found on Eve. The game is extremely open and fun, especially at the small scale levels that I play at.
Don't rate the game on the forums because they are full of trolls embarassed by their failed vaporware call on this game. In the first week we even had trolls buy the game to spam us in race chat about how crap the game was. But now everyone I talk to loves the game and many have bought the 6mnth subscription like myself. I'm sure Kebab would agree that he is having just as much fun in his clan.
So don't hold back on getting this game unless you are convinced it's not for you, and if you play Maharim or Orcs then hit up Kebab, and if you play Mirdain, Human or Dwarf then hit me up (Khul Drukath) and we can get some good TG style gaming going.
