    Who is playing?

Who is playing this still? I started on release day, and since no one seemed interested here, I ended up joining Shadow Syndicate. We are part of the Cairn alliance (with Blood and SUN). I'm an Orc, and looking for more to do... I really want to be in a small mercenary guild and not have to worry about the city stuff (its really not worth it, we are currently building up our second city after building up one and having it taken from us, before moving to Cairn).

Does everyone playing really want the 'city' life and the grind that comes with it or would you rather be able to hop-on and do your PvP, maybe mine some resources (but actually get to keep or sell them, instead of putting them toward a city).

    What are your thoughts?

    Re: Who is playing?

Still playing since day 2 And yes the long wait seemed to really kill any interest here, which is why I decided not to take up the mantle of carrying on the early ideas of a TG clan. In fact I disbanded my clan after a while to try out a few others whilst I waited for more of my friends to come across from other games, but it's coming back tonight!

I totally agree with you about the city thing. One thing Eve showed me quickly was that I did not want to be a part of that grimey side of the game, and I see no reason why DF will be any better for this. Ran a merc corp in Eve for a couple of years, and it was incredible fun. Looking at doing something similar for DF, but I'm not sure what. The boat thing definitely interests me, so I'm swaying for going pirate over merc, because I think the only real need for mercs atm is in help with taking cities. Only need another 90k gold for a sloop...

Well, if you decide to make this merc guild and we can find a place to call home (I'm an Orc), I'd like to know. The whole huge guild / big alliance thing is annoying. I think if we got quite a few people, we could buy a sloop fairly quickly. I have around 10k gold myself.

    Re: Who is playing?

The clan is definitely going ahead - the 'problem' that we have is the new guys joining will be, well they will be new ofc! That means we're likely to be hanging around starter places to show them the ropes. The core of the clan is d/e/h and I've yet to really work out what to do racially.

But whatever gets worked out it'll be a small/mid focused group, because that is by far the most fun. Big enough to be a force, small enough to stay tight.

Yea, it's a bugger trying to start an all race clan without somewhere to call home. And I really don't care to re-roll my launch day Orc...

Well, they screwed up the transaction for me because they have no seal of approval from Visa in their webshop. Im waiting till they add more ways to purchase the game and even then Im looking at either Mortal Online or Darkfall.

Problem right now is the naked zergs, developers failure to communicate, immature community&trolls able to freely register into the forums and missing content. I think I'll let the game mature up a bit before I open it up again.
