What is THIS?

I just stumbled in here...

How is this game? I will be looking into getting some info online, but wanted to hear it from you guys...

A fantasy MMORPG that hasn't been released yet. The world will be a constant world which means that there wont be any 'instances' (little extra levels detached from the main world). In this game players will be able to create buildings and cities for thier guild. There will be no 'safe areas' so waring guilds can attack each others cites.

The combat will be different from many RPGs because when you click your mouse you swing your weapon rather than selecting an attack from a menu and watching your character attack.

Thats the gist of the game as I see. There are tonnes of other features that I havn't mentioned that could make this game very interesting.

Yep - I'm trying to get us a spot in their beta testing. The advantage here is that we can help assist the devs in making the game even better.

already looked around cing - apparently DF doesn't have any logo type images yet... looking on their website, I didn't see anything I could even photoshop into something that looked like a logo...

now knowing that it's pre-beta, i understand why...

I guess the only thing I can think of is to do a gold-on-black 'DF' similar to the letter styling on their website main page.

Sounds interesting....similar to Vanguard in that it does away with instances.

I was following V:SoH until Sony Online Entertainment bought it back. Slim to none chance that I'll go anywhere near it now.

That's my main reservation as well Tarp. Only reason I'm still watching it is because they aren't actually developing the game.

But I'm real leery.

Here's to hoping Darkfall comes together as good as it sounds. City of Heroes was supposed to be skill based with no classes as well, but they said that it was impossible to balance so they scrapped the idea and went to a more traditional approach. So I'm wondering if Darkfall can pull it off. I really, REALLY hope they can... (I need another good MMORPG.

Heya Wulfyn! Hope life's been treating you well.

Good to see you're into MMORPG's....been needing a new game for awhile now and it's so much better to try one with friends.

Sent you a PM on the Darkfall forums, so add me to the guild when you get a chance.

Might check out EVE if no beta's open up in the near future. We'll see....so many cool sounding games in development at the moment, but the waiting really sucks.
