Today is the 20th, DFO needs to start its final clan recruitment for a week or 10 days and then after that closes (aka begining of December) they should be adding people to the Beat via private applications but mostly through Clan applications.

I understand the concept of Soon(tm), but honestly I really hope that it will start around 1-2 weeks into December, so that I can start planning ALL of my holiday time gaming and crying myself to sleep at night at the decline of my social life. ^^

We should put some life into these forums, and start helping sesssions for people who will be sitting at the edge of their seats in December, refreshing the main page and the forums every 10 seconds hoping for an announcment that Beta has begun and we were accepted...

...I'm definatly not going to be one of them...

Heh, I'd love to see us in beta, and I'd love to see the beta come soon. I'm not holding my breath though, no matter what their forums say. Seems like they're taking as much time as they want to develop the game, which is both good and bad.

I don't foresee it hitting retail for at least another year, more likely 2-3, which means the beta could be a ways off.

Even though I agree with you that retail will not be hitting the shelves any time soon, I don't think that it is really that impossible to start Closed Beta as soon as possible. CB helps with finding bugs, developing a loyal player base, helping with testing of massive useage of server and the game itself. They have a large amount of people that are doing internal testing, but they need to see how their servers hold up with players from the NA, and other places where the game will be popular like China, Japan, Korea, etc.

I don't doubt that hoping for Beta to start by the x-mas holidays is a long shot, but it is more then possible, and it gives you hope in the end of the tunnel for someone like me whos only other choice will be to play World of Warcraft, or god forbid develop a better social life.

That being said, do we have to do anything else to help our chances of getting into CB? Will it basically work like... our guild gets into beta, our guild leader gets a certain amount of keys which he gives out to our players and then we just log on and start enjoying ourselves? Or will it require us to sign up individually, or... yeah.

Can't wait. ^^

I don't actually know any hard facts. However, I'm sure that our steadily growing potential player base (we're somewhere between 15-20 signed-up players now, I think?) helps. It may help if we're also active on the forums, but I can't find any discussions there that I actually desire to join/have useful input on. Anything that could get the devs to visit our site here might help.

Then again, it could also be totally random.

If you have a group registered on our forums and do NOT have access to this location darkfallonline.com/cb/admin/ then you need to send a private message to Guild Registrar that simply states Beta Key for the subject, and in the body of the message lists the email you'd like to be contacted at. I suggest that you NOT use a free provider such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc, but that is your choice. Please be sure that aventurine.gr and razorwax.com are allowed on your spam lists to avoid any odd problems.

You may only do this if you are listed as the leader of the group in our database. If it's sent from someone listed as anything other than the leader it will be ignored.

You only need to do this one time, you won't get a reply of any sort; we'll contact you with a beta key IF you are accepted. Just being in our database is not a guarantee to access. Please do not ask any staff member for information on your status, or to be issued a key, the answer will be a resounding no.

If you do not have a group in our forum database at this time we will get to you in the next open, please do not request a group at this time as the request will be ignored.

If anything about this is unclear, please send me a PM directly."

Wulfyn is the leader - I just have control over the Darkfall Forum group. Wulfyn would have that, too, if it would let us switch leaders

Ahh whats the hurry? This game sounds like the roxors but don't forget beta = crashing every 30 minutes, and that can get really frustrating, especially when you're in middle of a horse-jacking =)

I just hope their logging in process is fast!
