Re: Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising

I just reread it, it says the Black Legion, not Alpha Legion...Or am I reading this wrong?

I don't think the Thousand Suns would be able to be in a Warhammer game aside from their armor colors and emblems. If I remember reading it correctly, it said that the Thousand Suns turned into pure chaos energy, and are no more than floating power armor.

Yeah just their souls are left, it was a spell to stop the thousand sons from becoming mutated like other chaos followers but its went wrong and their bodies turned to ash leaving just an empty suit of armor.

I think you will be getting a Chaplain in the Chaos Rising campaign, looking at this screenshot.

Oops, my bad. I thought he was wearing black armor, with the chapter shoulder pads. He's actually wearing blue I just noticed.

This expansion is going to rock so hard! Can't wait to use the Chaos in multiplayer though I'll probably not use them for a while since everyone will be playing them lol .

I'm sure we will be seeing the Guard shortly.

I can't wait to shoot up some hummie Guardsmen with me dakka!

The Guard will be an interesting faction since they rely so heavily on Armor support.

Actually the guard are very versatile, the whole meatsheild men infront of lots of tanks is more rare than you would think, although tanks still play a large part they are not required, I use an imperial guard army made up of small groups of elite soldiers and only sentinels for armor.

but for some reason dawn of war and imperial guard mens loads of crappy men and lots of tanks then they get nerfed to have lots of crappy men, and very few tanks -_-

Maybe the Imperial Guardsmen will be on par with Guardian, or Shoota Boy squads.

This is because the IG vary so much. Iron Company IG is going to be armor-heavy, while the Cadians can essentially be equated to the modern US Army in space. Compared to every other threat out there, yes, a guardsman is going to be little more than ablative armor for tanks. Someone like the Krieg Death Korps, Catachans, Elysian drop troops (are you using these?) or Tanith units, on the other hand, who've been fighting for most of their life, are going to be absurdly good at what they do, and thus receive better equipment. If the IG faction in the DoW games were the elite of the IG, it'd make more sense for them to be better and less armor-heavy. They're not. They're the Cadians.

Maybe, but it'd be a bit weird. After all, the Guardians are immortal soldiers who haven't had much to do but train how to shoot things for millenia, while the Orks were created to, iirc, be the counter to supposedly unstoppable Necrons. Throwing a man who's, again, not that different from a modern Marine into that mix and expecting good results is a bit optimistic.
