Hdr
Well i know dod source has it in all the maps. so i wanted to ask if anyone with a high end card who gets full hdr lighting not only blooming option to post some pictures. because the setting is in all the source options(hl2,hl2dm,and cs source) but i dont think the maps have it programed into them cause they all still look the same to me. i saw the video for lost cost and none of the current maps have them. I dont have dod source so i wanted to ask if anyone can post screenies of it using hdr settings. thanx

Re: Hdr
It's hard to tell from screens what it's really doing, but in a lamen's term, it's making light lighter and dark darker but also increasing the amount of shades inbetween.
This gives the effect of really bright and really dark areas that smooth out better. |

If you look at the pics up close, you'll notice that I put them side by side, from low exposure to high exposure, so that the difference can be seen more clearly... (I've set them all up in this way) Here's an example: ![]() Notice that from inside (left pic), the sunlight reflecting off of the house in front of you is over exposed, and that the normally blue sky, is almost white. Now notice that when you step outside (right pic), that the light normalizes, and becomes less exposed, as it would in real life. If maybe a little exaggerated...
