    DayZ Mod Setup

Well, the news is out and it seems alot of TG'rs are looking to get onboard with this new Mod called DAYZ. It is a mod made for the Arma2 plus Operation Arrowhead- Combined Arms.

To get started here is a Sixupdater Guide to assist you.

    To begin first download Sixupdater.

    http://www.six-updater.net/p/download.html

After downloading Sixupdater go to link below and follow steps 14 thru 17 of that guide then follow steps for Dayz setup

    http://www.tacticalgamer.com/arma-so...heck-list.html

Now click Home tab and put a check mark in the little Beta box. Click Game Profile tab and put a check mark in that Beta box.

Here is your Sixupdater set up for DAYZ MOD.

    1. Open Sixupdater

    2. Go to Su portal and run ping test

    3. Go to Mods list and scroll down to @Dayz. Click and than right click- do updater action- Install or update--

    4. Go to Dynamic/Preset panel to left and right click anywhere in panel. Click on New Preset. Rename Preset to Dayz Mod.

    5. Now click on the @Dayz Mod preset and go to mods list and add @Dayz to that preset. You should now have @Dayz and expansion/beta in that preset.

    6. Now click on Dayz Mod preset- right click choose Create icon than follow thru with Create shortcut-Execute-shutdown all the way.

    7. Click on New desktop icon-right click and then rename to Dayz Mod.

    8. Now go to top of Sixupdater and click the Blue Save tab above the Game Folder tab. After this you can shut Sixupdater down and double click the DAYZ icon.

    9. After Su starts it will execute your CO and bring you to the start up Screen. Click multplayer go to Filter box then put DAYZ in top box and click ok. You will now see more than 40 servers available to choose.

Sickboy has been pretty good at keeping up with the updates. When you open six and the Dayz Mod preset tile is Yellow, just do the updater action- Install or Update.

    Good luck and good gaming

Updated my Blog on setting up with Sixupdater for the Dayz mod.

    http://www.tacticalgamer.com/blogs/s...-craze-tg.html

This guide will help those new to A2-OA Combined Arms just for the Dayz Mod.

Once you are set up Sixupdater you will find it easy to launch, update and explore more options beside this mod. It is also the recommended utility to use for our Alpha and Bravo servers.

Go here to get setup for the Alpha and Bravo Servers at TG.

    re: DayZ Mod Setup

Just in case anyone has the same issue I had, I bought ArmA:CO on steam, and followed the setup above and still couldn't get in game. I'd connect and crash back to the server browser.

I had to manually download and update the battleye files in the folders described on the Battleye download page for ArmA and OA.

    Under the steam folder thats:
    \steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye
    \steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye

Fallen you can also make steam do that by right clicking on A2 OA in steam and click reinstall battleye. Then go to properties and verify game cache. It will tell you it will reacquire 1 missing file. Close steam completely and restart it. You will then be GTG.

Sarge, the link in your original post doesn't work. It looks like it's been automatically shortened, which has included the ellipsis in the URL. Perhaps edit a working link in or copy/paste the guide from your blog into a new thread, because as people update their blogs yours will soon disappear from the 'recent blog entries' sidebar.

Go to the Armed Assault area of the forums and seek threads for the Dayz mod and read for more info about the Mod and groups that are currently playing. Also there is a TS channel with a PW located in the Armed Assault area of Teamspeak.

    Second link fixed. Howdy Mosely!

Sarge, I took your later updated post and copied it to the first so that it's more visible to searches and people find the information in the first post. Good job!

    Updates via SixUpdater

Sixupdater will let you know when to update the Dayz mod when the Green tile left of the Preset name (DAYZ MOD) turns yellow. Just click then right click the Dayz mod preset name choose updater actions in drop down menu and then choose Install or Update mods in next menu that pops up to the right.

Also note that Sixupdater from time to time will auto update itself. This is normal and can happen once or twice a month. When it is processing the update you will be asked about your configuation of Sixupdater. Read the instructions and it is recommended you say NO.

Anyother questions or need of help I am always avaiable to assit while on TS or contacting me thru PM. No game that I am in is more important than to get you up and gaming.

    Re: Updates via SixUpdater

@asch: you are ok, you can just click then right click the Dayz Mod (2) preset and delete one of them. The Dymanic one is normal only create an Icon to lauch the game with the Dayz Mod(2) that you don't delete and you should be good to go.

You can go to the Need Help or Armed Assault TS channels and someone who has Six updater can assist you.
