Yeah, steam pulled a fast one on me too. Oh well... Either way I bet DayZ will be unstable for a little while anyway.

DayZ still worked fine with the update. At least this should mean the stop to the constant need to fiddle with the beta versions, eh?

You should be able to update to the official 1.62 without issue. DayZ is still currently running beta builds though, but that's the reason the upgrade shouldn't affect you.
