    Re: Electro/Cherno Deathmatch

    This should cover everything. If it doesn't, ask away.

    These are the things Sarge, Bronco, HotFranc, and I though of:

    I was planning to ask Apophis if we could use the Alpha server, like he suggested to do the event. Since there was no way to lock a DayZ server, it would have to be vanilla ArmA for this deathmatch. This is unfortunate, but considering zombies would most likely create a lot of unneeded frustration, it may work in our favor. Obviously, this would have to be a mission created and loaded on the server prior to the event. It would also need to be tested.

    Regarding Wicks's comment about promising the community that TG would be putting on an event, I made sure that I didn't mention that I was a part of TG or that TG would be putting on the event. I was merely gauging interest. If it seemed that I was putting TG forth as a host, I was trying to avoid that at all cost.

    Now, Sarge and Bronco recommended that I get in touch with the mission-editing team (AdeptAbyss, BlackPython, Dredge?) from TG to see if this is all possible (hopefully they would create the mission for me too ). We would then give it to Apophis if we got his approval and he would load it on the Alpha/Bravo/Charlie server. Once that has been done, I think it would be best if we had an internal TG scrim/test of the mission. Was thinking if we could get all of this done, this Saturday or Sunday at 2200 EST would be a good time to test.

    If the test went well and the playability was good enough, I would ask if we could host a public Capture the Mountain Dew event on our server. If the event got enough publicity and popularity, we could host Capture the Mountain Dew tournaments (this is of course far-fetched), which could really give Tactical Gamer the attention it needs (?) in DayZ. This guy is quite excited about this and sounds willing to help.

    I am so down to help publicize this. I really want there to be some kind of competitive DayZ, Even if we make it ourselves. Please use the 2 sites in my sig and ask me if you need anything. I can totally post up a page with info or something for you. it's hard to find stuff on this board.

    Great idea, the only thing that could make it better is have it all in 1 city, but that can be done too and this is a great start towards something.

    Messed around in editor for a bit, got the ammo crates to work. Will need to talk to someone who knows more about mission editing to get the rest of the items set.

    Totally down for this.
    In DayZ, you either die a Survivor or live long enough to see yourself become a Bandit.

    @Price
    Please do not twist my words that were said to you. Just to make it crystal clear.
    I said that I will help you with mission editing (since you had no idea), and that I would point you in the right direction.
    Since I do not have the necessary time required to dedicate to make the mission for you right now.

    That's not what I was trying to say. By "help" I meant that you were going to help me make it. If I meant that you were going to make it, I would have said that. This was also posted before I had talked to you (the second time) and BlackPython regarding this.
