Dungeons and Dragons Online
Has anyone download the Beta test of D&D online? It will be open until like Saturday or Sunday. It seems very well made. It still uses the dice in a way. So far the only downside I have found, is that when playing on a computer and not sitting next to people I would prefer to be able to do things alone. However, you can only complete like the first 2 quests by yourself and then you will need at least 1 partner. Graphically it is AMAZING! Just my 2 cents.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
Friend of mine did the beta... He said it was oriented more towards the hardcore D&D type of folks and that you can forget solo'n it if you don't have friends to play with. Screen shots I've seen did look nice however.
I'll wait to check out NWN2.--

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
I played alpha and beta since around may june of last year... It's fun but very hard compared to other mmorpgs, and yeah you need a group pretty much allways, but just sit in a tavern with you looking for group flag up, and it wont take long.
Oh, you're talking to me all wrong! It's the wrong tone. You do it again, I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
One of my party members made a video of us killing a boss, ill go find it
Edit : http://www.zippyvideos.com/234290495...ing_ddo_video/
Was watching this with sound off, im the one with a pointy helmet
Its from a clerics PoV
We rushed in, gate closed behind us, we start attacking the boss, he does some AoE attack that killed half of the group, he gets bugged somehow, so he stops attacking us, half way down he makes a elemental rise, the group destroys it after listening to what I said, they attack him some more, another elemetal rises, they kill that, then they kill the boss, someone grabbed my soul stone and brought it to a res shrine, I res, go back to where the boss was, get a +2 rapier, some Bull Dung (
), and a robe. It was beautiful

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
I have been playing the free preview since Thursday. I am a long time D&D fan, but new to the Ebberon game setting. I like the difficulty of the quests, graphics are great, and if you are down on the whole MMORPG grind, this game is a nice change of pace. I have had zero problems playing. Just a small amount of lag in the taverns, but it doesn't last.

I am looking forward to this game and hope I can find a regular group to quest with. So far I give it two thumbs up, but we will see how they handle the public release and the longevity of the game. If they keep adding quests and raise the level cap it could go far."Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be an ugly brawl."

Sounds like a perfect game for TG to support.

FROM THE TACTICAL GAMER PRIMER.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
As a hardcore pen and paper D&D fan, I'm definitely looking forward to the debut next month. So I'd be down forming an adventuring party when it starts.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
Looks cool! I played D+D on paper years ago and look forward to playing online. Wizardy and Ulitma were favorites of mine on the PC so from the previews and word of mouth this online version of D+D looks promising. Count me in to help form a party!

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
As far as I know this game will have a monthly fee, not sure on the price. IMHO it will be worth it, with further free modules and large expansions, it could go far. You can't honestly compare it to a current MMORPG. Maybe Guildwars but this is the mighty D&D :-)

Rouges are a party favorite. They give extra EXP for the whole party when disarming traps.
Also, ya just got to open those secret chests. Masterwork Longsword anyone?
The ingame voice works great, I was on Saturday night from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, not a crackle.
The gameplay is my favorite part, shift to block the kobold's strike or you could tumble out of the
way to throw a dagger at him. Auto-attack is an option, but what fun is that.
I haven't scratched the surface on the spell casting classes or magic in general. I am partial to
fighter types.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
I just started playing the beta.. It's.. Interesting. I do need a group to play with though as there's not much I can do on my own after the first couple missions.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Online
I've been through some of the beta.. so far so good.. Haven't been able to get too immersed in it. I believe it is a prime candidate for TG support because of the game play it supports. I am signed up for Headstart on the 24th - So I am game for partying up with some TGers that want to make a run at it starting this Friday.
I am wondering how it is going to compete with the WoWers.. not that there isn't room for both, there certainly is.. Isn't the interface licensed from Blizzard? Sure felt like WoW.

XBox360 GamerTag: P8riotOne (but it might also be my son playing - he can game with TG tho!)
