I have a really strong urge to start playing D&D online..... not sure if i can commit myself to another game though.... WoW Has kinda sucked all my attention at the moment.
Are the games comparable? What do you think it really great about D&D? I might give it a try.
(check my avatar btw - it's my Pally sitting on Vin's lap while his Murloc gives us the evil fish eye - hehe)

Haha.. I played
WoW.. and loved it.. and then
BF2 took up my time, now I play D&DO during all my free time. I
do plan on going back to some play on
BF2 once the guild is stabilized and self perpetuating with SM's... if it is going to get that way. I also still get
WoW prepay cards and pop on once in awhile - I have one now actually.
On the surface, if you've played
WoW you will think they are very comparable - but as you transition from the Harbor to the Market place - you see just how different they are. Lots of eye and brain candy - you can also see there is a tremendous amount of room for this adventure to grow in the future.
Admittedly - it is a significant investment in money for a game.. not to mention the time it will suck away from everything else. Especially without there being a trial version available.. but then
WoW was pretty much the same way, however, I whole - heartedly encourage the investment, and that is rare for me.
I'd definitely like to hear what Val thinks too.
If I can find a copy of that page with the NYT article- I've got a 36" scanner I can put it on.
