We had a full party turn out for Irestone Inlets last night and it was a blast.. even though we had a 'do-over' right at the start when our party got split up by accident and started a two-front skirmish.
Deliberate planning and strategy won the day for us, the quest was a level 4 quest and the highest of us was only lvl3 rank 1 when we started. Rori very effectively scouted ahead to lead the party by sneaking into view of the Hobgoblin, Ogres, and Kobolds and tipping us off. After we could quickly set up a trap, Rori, Elmo and I would then take turns pulling Ogres and Hobgoblins into us. What kept us on our toes were the roving bands of Hobgoblins guards that would sneak up on us - I kept hitting 'Q' and expecting a commo-rose to pop up when I saw one.. never happened (
BF2 players will appreciate that one).
Elmo and I were tanks - dealing out with with fearsome strength right in the thick of battle - drawing the most hardcore of the creatures to us.. giving time for Galan and Nilzar to wreak havoc with a firestorm of burning hands hellfire.
We couldn't have done it at all without Graeyg.. supporting the ranks as a very effective cleric and striking with his bow from a distance, every moment he wasn't healing all of us.. well ok.. especially me.
With all of the bonuses we accrued in that stint, we all did very well. A few of us leveled up.. and everyone made significant strides in rank. We held up as a very tight party and it was fantastic to see us all work so well together!
THAT being said.. I am taking a break tonight.. Thorgaard is tired!
