Tactical Gamer Guild Information
What is Tactical Gamer?
The Tactical Gamer community as a whole is based on a two simple tenets: 1) An environment of mature, respectful players. 2) Tactical game-play focused on teamwork. To this end we wish to interact and associate with like-minded gamers who are searching for something more than the standard realm of gaming has to offer. We strive through our actions and teamwork to bring “Tactical” play to the games we love. This community supports a style of play that is not for everyone, we realize this, but we are more concerned with the group/team as a whole, than we are with personal achievement. To succeed in the games this community supports, one must employ their ability to reason and co-operate in order to be successful. Achieving personal glory is NOT the objective of a |TG| member, winning (completing the objective) through superior tactics and team-play is. Tactical Gamer Guild: As can be demonstrated by the statements above, this is NOT a Hack & Slash organization. We are not interested in grouping with players whose only desire is to grind through a dungeon for the experience points. We understand the enjoyment of leveling; it’s the advancement of our characters that keeps us coming back for more. What will separate us from many of the guilds out there is how we achieve the successful outcome of the adventure. Communication is essential for tactical game-play, for this reason we require that ALL guild members have the in-game voice enabled. While a mic is extremely helpful, you will not be excluded from the guild simply for not having one (although we strongly recommend acquiring one.) Play your role. If you are a Fighter you should not be taking point for party; that is the role of the Rogue. If you are Rogue, you should probably avoid frontal confrontations whenever possible, let the Fighter take the brunt of the onslaught. This may seem like common sense to many of us, but how many Party’s have you been in that the Fighter charges off head long into a trap, while the Rogue is left trying to play catch up? Play as a group. The party leader should never have to ask: “Where is Player X?” A character alone in a dungeon is, more often than not, a dead one. The party leader is just that, the party leader, follow their instructions. While we aren’t tyrants and are open to general discussion of the plan, once formulated, stick to it to the best of your ability. (As circumstances allow.) Often you’ll hear: “Fighters to the front; hold the line in the doorway.” This means form a shield wall and hold your ground, not open the door and charge. Again, this seems simple, but we’ve all witnessed the occurrence of the latter. This is just a general summary of what we, here at Tactical Gamer, expect of our members. If you find that this holds true to your philosophy of how the game should be played, welcome to the fold. If not, well…we will try to ignore your rotting corpse as we press forward to loot the chest.
