New rogue fresh out of WoW

I played wow for awhile, realized it was boring, then was told it contained spyware, did some research, and am now disgusted with Blizz now and most likely forever.

So here I am. Howdy.

I hail from the NS section of the forums, I've enjoyed the skill and teamwork TG has afforded in that realm, and I'm hoping to become part of the same experience in the D&d portion of this community.

I got the game yesteray night, but I've been playing D&d on and off since AD&d (Version 2) so though I'm a complete noob to the game interface, the rules feel familiar.

Anyhow, just thought I'd do a Hello World post in this forum section and see if anyone is doing anything at low levels. Thanks, hope to see some of you ingame.

welcome to DDO, I think you'll enjoy it here, there is no grinding or farming or uber gear to get. Just lots of teamwork and good times. Most of us have low level alternates to give new players a hand and if ya have any questions about the rogue class feel free to ask me or any other rogues in the guild. Welcome aboard.

Re: New rogue fresh out of WoW

Thank you.

I'd like to join TG's guild if that's alright. Basically I'm learning more and more than DDO is not a soloist game for the most part, so I'm looking to tag along with some of you in your endeavors.

PS: By the way, I do have a question. Every time I go to create a character, about 15 minutes into the process, the client crashes out completely. Is there a way to deal with this? I'm running winxp sp2 as user.

Re: New rogue fresh out of WoW

Welcome, Slayer. I think you'll enjoy adventuring with the guild, it always makes for an enjoyable experience. DDO is definitely not a solo type game, they designed it to be party based and just about every dungeon I've been in reflects that. A lot of us have lower level alternate characters, so don't feel you have to rush through anything to play "catch up". Actually, I was planning on playing with my second level mage, Philip Anderson, tonight and I'd be happy to join up with you and dungeon crawl.
As a guild, we're relaxed and friendly. No abusive language, no hazing the new guy or anything remotely close. No yelling at anyone for doing something "incorrectly", or playing your charcter "wrong" or just plain making a mistake. There may be some good natured jokes at your expense, but it's all in good fun. Most of us will pass along items we find if we can't use them, offer tips about character builds or game mechanics, etc. It's a heck of a lot of fun, to be honest.
As for your computer question, I'm not real knowledgeable on the computer subject so I don't think I can help you out much. Some of the other guys know their stuff, though, and can hopefully steer you in the right direction.
I'll see you in game, and good hunting to you.

Yeah I had The Talk back when I was playing NS. Thanks though.

Is there a slot open in the guild?

Re: New rogue fresh out of WoW

First off, Welcome. If you have any Game related question feel free to ask. Ive been playing the game for awhile (was in beta for about a month).

Technicaly we dont have any slots open in the guild, because we dont limit who can join . Unlike WoW (which i played since beta also) we dont need a "perfect 40" or anything. This is just a bunch of us who group together alot. Also try and pick up teamspeak (http://www.goteamspeak.com/), most of us are on it during the game (and many of us are on it when we arnt even playing). You can get the TS info off the main TG site.

Again, welcome, and let me know if ya need anything.
