Thumbs down Great Game, Bad Movie

In case any of you were wondering (which I'm sure you weren't), the Dungeons and Dragons movie (2) is HORRIBLE. I was desperate at the moment and picked it because there was nothing else, figuring it might be one of those movies that is good because it is so bad, but it doesn't even have that appeal going for it. I could'nt even make it past the first half-hour....

Did you ever see the first one...god was it BAD. Why D&D (wizards of the Coast) would allow it's name to be used on such a piecie of....well, you know....is beyond me. Conan had probably half the budget, and was ten times the movie.

i agree! both movies were unwatchable........ if you want some good fantasy action youre best off sticking with this handy list of fantasy movies i just thought of

    - Lord of the rings trilogy (special edition if possible)
    -Willow (gotta love the brownies!)
    -The Princess Bride
    -The Chronicles of narnia
    -The Dark Crystal
    -Labrynth (Starring david bowies package!)
-Conan (both, but the first one is better)
    -Red Sonja
    -Harry Potter movies
-The Wizard of OZ (and sequel)
    -Crouching tiger hidden dragon
    -pirates of the caribbean
    -princess mononoke

thats all i can think of now but there are more im shure.................

You know, i always hear bad things about the DnD movies but can never understand it. I liked them both. The first one was silly, and wacky and generaly a good time, the second was VERY true to DnD and i LOVED that they explained the diference between Arcane and Divine magic. They arnt great movies, but i think they entertain for the time you watch them.

If your talking fantasy movies, you HAVE to include Clash of the Titans. That is greek mythology at its finest. (though some newer ones like Troy are perfectly fine)

I seem to recall Excalibur being a great movie. Had it's cheesy moments, sure, but all in all it was solid.
