    Holiday in Sorrowdusk Isle

    Inspired by RL high seas excursions to the carribean islands; Thorgaard, Philip, and Grendel under the keen leadership of Rori Turnfeather ventured off to the exotic Sorrowdusk isle. All was not fun in the sun, however, as our services were quickly acquired by Kurvic the hound before we ever left the ship.

    It wasn't long after our disembarkation that we discovered the island paradise of sorrowdusk crawling with band of Hobgoblins - all looking for a little action.. and I don't mean any kind of action most would find pleasurable whilst on vacation. I was not long before we found ourselves diving into the deeps of the dungeon of Kol Korran facing ever mounting larger numbers of Hobgoblins.

    Our first task was a short little trek to find and release fellow vacationer, turned prisoner Achka - a hobgoblin of much more pleasant demeanor than that of the dusk hobgoblins. After repeatedly sending Thorgaard into the middle of the fray to absorb vast portions of the physical punishment being dealt (perhaps it was some sick humor to see the life-bar of Thor sink to near nothingness before healing) while other party member hung out and pitched measly little arrows and bolts at the opposition from a safe distance - we finally made it to Atchka.

    Achka was guarded by two rather formidable earth-elementals (and GUESS who has the +1 shocking greatclub of lesser elemental bane?). After visiting Fluffy (to whom I will refer to the named CR:7 hellhound) in the cell next door - and learning Fluffy was in no mood to cuddle and in need of a little discipline, we opened the gate for Atchka (whom gratefully disappeared) and battled the Elemental guardians.

    And THAT was just Part 1 Chapter 1! Chapter 2 Brings Justice for Grust.. another kinder, gentler, atypical Hobgoblin - and more tales for 3.5 party member out to have a good time. Wait a minute - 3.5 party members you say? Why, Yes, I do.. and I am not referring to our altitude challenged friend Thorgaard either. Employing our tried and true method of attack (send Thor in!) the guys thought it would be funny to cast a grease spell right in his path of attack and giggle hysterically as the hapless dwarven sledgehammer slammed onto his back and slid, flailing wildly, into the midst of no less than 5 Hobgoblins! This brought out our first incapacitation.. the QUICK thinking of Philip revived me and he continued to heal me as a scrambled, sloppily up the slope seeking cover, whilst the beats aggro'd on other member of the party.

    Not long after that brought about our second incapacitation and subsequent death of another party member (*cough*fearless leader*cough*).. so for the rest of the chapter, we were lead by the ghostly figure of Rori as he scouted about in ghost form until the final end and completion of Chapter 2.

    There are still 8 chapters left! All kidding aside, the team performed great together once again and a good time was had by all. Grendel will be taking a few days off, so the completion of the Tale of Sorrowdusk isle vacation may take awhile.. so We're hiring! Level 4+ and a keen sense of adventure preferred!

    I'm not sure there enough hours in the day for me to get one of my 2 characters up to 4th in order to apply for the job...

    ...but I'm trying!

    Cheers.

    It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them;
    if double, engage them; if equal, be able to divide them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.
