I feel like messing around with VirtualDub and the demo smoother in HL2 again. I'm pretty new at this so the camera pans are rarely as smooth/professional as I'd like. I'll likely have higher-quality (but way bigger) AVIs available.
Clip 1 link (17MB): Recorded 07/21, Punks push to the docks and Zephyr dives to the objective like some invisible angel of death (watch for the smooth mid-air takeout of the heavy that's supposed to be waiting for him).
Oh, I'll post my first experiment with this but keep it seperate from my first post because it didn't involve TG.
Clip 0 link (4.2MB): Recorded on dys_broadcast when it was still Radio Shack. There is a 'laser fence' in the sewers that can become a point of contention after the first objective. One day I decided to have some fun with it.
Yeah, despite posting like crazy in the tactics forum I still hadn't hit 15 posts (seems like an intelligent anti-spam measure to keep me from posting until then)

God that take down was satisfying...makes me remember why I love this game.
I think the best part in that video is after I get the docks and thane just types "dangit".
I like your camera angles though, you made it interesting.

You were once like the newbie who needed a hand from above and TacticalGamer gave you it.
You owe the newbie who comes after you that same outstretched hand from above on your honor as a Tactical Gamer.
Tactics at TG come from trust and friendship, not meticulous detail and rigid discipline.
Everyone should be assumed mature until proven otherwise.
We are no clan.
We are not a single game.
We are mature, intelligent, and cooperative individuals.
We are TacticalGamer, a community above and beyond its name.
Were those angles accomplished by being in spectator mode?
I recorded while in spectator mode but I mostly just sat in one room while eating dinner. You can do post-production custom paths using the Demo Smoother tool:
There are some problems with this. I would mostly sit in the immediate docks room, but players and doors wouldn't render in anything after the antechamber just before the docks. (That's why the action is limited to that room, just a little before the clip starts ViolentSquirrel GLs a guy outside) Does anyone know how I could make everything render in spectator mode? I think HLTV does this but you can't get data for the Demo Smoother with those.

I'm pissed off at my camera angles, they were supposed to be close-in circles of a vicious firefight, but half the time the players end up out of the frame. I'm probably going to have to start controlling my angles frame by frame for that sort of thing. The only part I'm partially happy about is your segment, but your cloak doesn't render (because I'm too far away in spec mode) and it's not obvious just how cool your elimination of mojo was.
Anyways, I got at least one more experiment planned (going to try using more post-production tools) and after that it's a question of obtaining the demo content.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
