Spotting Stealthers
It's not that hard to spot a stealther if you know what your looking for, but coming from NS: the animation is pretty different (a shadow compared to a "heat wave" effect.
I could spot them pretty well before, but after playing "Hidden: Source" for a few hours, stealthers in Dystopia send off big red lights in my brain. Basically, if you are having issues spotting stealthers witout Thermals, I'd recommend you DL and play this game for a bit (It's free if you own HL2, which if you're playing Dystopia....). The "Hidden" has the same stealth effect, but it's even better. So if you are good at spotting the Hidden, ninja wanna-bes in Dystopia will be nothing.

Re: Spotting Stealthers
Nothing trains your stealther sight like this game. It's also a really good game. I endorse this with Zephyr's Seal of Outstanding Learning.

Re: Spotting Stealthers
I've actually never been able to see the Hidden in H:S. I have a good enough system to run DirectX 9.0 and I get the watery effect in Dys for cloakers, but I cannot for the life of me see the hidden. He's 100% invisible to me.

Re: Spotting Stealthers
I used to be able to see him with my older system, but my newer, more powerful system can't.
EDIT: Just tested the tutorial and nocliped into the hidden's room. Yeah, he's not in there with the lastest version, at least not for me. Last edited by nulloperations; 07-27-2006 at 02:12 PM. |
