A call to arms! ETQW at TG needs you!

ETQW has massive buzz across the Internet and is bound to be a commercial success. Our immediate goals are to lay the foundation for this game at TG and take advantage of its popularity across the world. We need a few people that are passionate about the game to help get it established at TG. The first order of business is filling the server. Once we have some people on the server, we can start shaping their behavior.

Do not get your hopes up too high over the next few weeks. As our admin team grows we will be focusing on establishing a set of expected behaviors on the server. We are bound to have some growing pains, but I will do my best to keep those at a minimum. For now, teamwork and maturity are required.

As your game officer, I will do my best to provide the best gaming experience I can. But I need your help in doing it.

What I need from you:

Seed the server! We need people on the server in order to get our name out there. The next few weeks will be critical in establishing TG as the ETQW server to play if you want to play an organized tactical game.

Spread the word! This game has the potential to be the most popular game at TG if we carefully shape the culture that plays on our server. To do this, it would be great to get some more TG vets playing this game. The more TG guys we have, the better we will be able to set the tone of our forums and game server.

As the play on our server improves we will attract mature passionate players to our forums. They will then hopefully see all TG has to offer and will join our community. My goal for this game is simple. I want us to be one of the flagship games that TG is known for. When people that play ETQW think tactics, I want them to think TG.

Well the server got a little action yesterday but not much. I tried seeding it a little earlier in the day but I only got 2 other people in there at the most. Hopefully with the weekend coming up it will see a lot more action.
I know Sc1ence, as the GO of this game, will do everything he can to make this game a success here at TG, but it is up to the rest of us to help him with that.

Here are some things we can do to help promote this game.

Obviously the most important thing to do is play the game. Random pubs aren't going to seed the server for us, it's up to the TG people to get it going and draw them in.
Post in this board - New people to the forums and TG Vets alike are going to pass this game up if they see that only a few posts are made about this game a day. This board is probably the biggest outlet we have to promote the game inside the TG community. People aren't going to buy the game and just hope there is a community around it; they're going to want to see the community first.
Share you experiences on the server - Hopefully we'll eventually get a sub forum for AAR's but for now maybe we can just have a post for AAR's. Also if you have the ability to record a game, do it. Making videos and posting them on Youtube and such with the server name on them is great publicity. I found the BF2142 server here after watching one of Silver's videos.
Get involved in the QW community - There are several forums and websites that are specifically for this game. Get involved on those boards. Make good posts where you can and help other users out when you can. People recognize names and will often find the server and the site through you. And in case anyone wants to below is the code to put the server banner in your forum signature.

I know this game is still new to everyone and everyone is just sort of testing the waters right now, but the public hype for this game is at its highest now, and it's the best time to draw in new members.

That banner is a nice way of advertising the server in other forums here at TG. Unfortunately, it is a bit wider than we are supposed to use given sig limitations. For the next 2 weeks I think its a minor rule break that is worth it.

I was using a cheesy banner, from game-monitor, it just didn't see to do any justice though.

*edit, I'll give this one a shot, if the other was to large and broke the sig rules.

Hmmm, I see that it's on Steam for $50. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to scratch up that kind of cash... We'll see.

I should be able to create a dynamic banner for the TG server that will look good, be compliant with the rules, and be custom.
The biggest problem is that I have absolutely no artistic talent at all so if anyone has any ideas for a banner please pm me with them and I'll see what I can do. I should be able to get something done this weekend.

On the 9th?????? Are they serious the game is already out. I have had the CE since last week but I lost the CD-Key so I need to buy it again. I will try to get the money today.

sc1ence, does this game support reserved slots like in BF2142? will supporting members have this option? I love how I can always get on our BF servers even if it's busy. thanks!

We do not support reserved slots (yet) we hope to have support for that in the near future. We are still working the kinks out of the out of game admin system.

No I had the game with me when I was looking over someone's computer and since then I just can't find the manual and my friend can't find it either.
