1. I don't have to have a disk (to install OR play).
b. I can install Steam on any computer and play ANY of my games anywhere (without needing a disk).
III. It's usually cheaper, but still worth it if it's the same price as retail.
4. Automatic updates.
E. Nothing to lose, ever. All I need to install all of my Steam games is, well, Steam and my login/pw. That's it.Become a supporting member!

I don't know much about steam. When I bought Half Life 2 on disc, I installed steam as well and was recognized as the owner of HL2 and games that were bundled. So now I can play those games without a disc through steam as you were describing. Will it not work the same way with Quake Wars?
