Rules: Basic Rules of Gameplay and Conduct
STOP! If you have been kicked or banned do not start a thread in the forums. Send a PM to only one of our admins and tell them your in-game name you were using at the time. Admin’s will inform you if you break the rules. Admins reserve the right to kick or ban without warning based on the severity of the offense. If you have a problem with or question about a decision that an admin has made, send a private message to that admin first. If you require further discussion, take it up with the game officer. Do not use the open forum to argue or complain about an admin decision.
ETQW SERVER RULES:
1) No disrespectful language or behavior allowed. This includes player and fireteam names. We expect our players to act with maturity and respect.
2) Players are not allowed into enemy Uncapturable Spawn Points (USP) for any reason other than for the sole purpose of destroying the enemy's deployed assets (artillery/radar/deployable). Restricted acts include:
- Entering the USP with the intent on killing a spawning player.
- Entering the USP with the intent of destroying any vehicle.
- Flying over the USP for air raids / bombing runs.
- Entering the USP with the intent to lay mines.
- Spawncamping is defined as:
Spawncamping is the act of repeatedly killing newly spawned in players with no intent of capturing their spawn or defending/obtaining an objective. Players usually do this to pad their statistics.
4) Teamwork is required! Those players that are clearly not cooperating with their team will be removed from the server.
These rules are in place not to deny valid real-life tactics, but to ensure the quality of game play. It’s all about not going for cheap kills and keeping this a fun place to play.
Failure to comply with the above rules will result in a warning, then a kick, and then a ban.
General ETQW Etiquette:
If someone does something you believe to be wrong or disruptive, tell him or her about it and move on. If they continue to be a nuisance, inform an admin.
Do not purposely obstruct other players. Examples are: Blocking doorways or ladders. Holding onto the objective when you do not know where to take it. Shoving players unnecessarily. Intentionally standing in a teammates line of fire. Stealing a uniform that another covert has already started to take. If you are being a general nuisance to your team expect to be kicked.
Do not idle/spec for extended periods of time. This takes up a slot that could be used by someone else. If you are going to be afk (away from keyboard) for a short period of time put yourself in spectator. If you are going to be away for more than a few minutes, disconnect. This server runs xp save and your stats will be restored as long as the campaign hasn’t ended. Admin’s will remove idlers at their discretion.
Team Balance:
Regular server members are expected to help the admins keep the teams balanced by number and skill level. If you notice that one team is being dominated then try to switch to that team. The admins keep a close eye on the balance and may switch you to the stronger team to make a slot available for a more experienced player. Please do not take offense. If the admin decides that a shuffle is in order, stay on the team you are assigned to unless told otherwise.
Cheating:
Cheating is never permitted. Anyone caught using a cheat will be permanently banned! Their IP and GUID will be shared with Punkbuster and the ET community! Do not accuse anyone of cheating in global chat. Inform an admin of your suspicion via private message and it will be handled accordingly.
PUBLIC / PRIVATE MESSAGE FORUMS (Basic Rules of Conduct)
- No vulgar language or profanity (This includes inappropriate words, inappropriate sexual references and other vulgar statements).
- No threatening, abusive or harassing comments.
- No slanderous or libelous posts (Knowingly making false claims about a company, organization or an individual are prohibited).
- No discussion or challenge to our editing policy is allowed within the forums. If you disagree, or want clarification as to why a particular topic, post or individual was removed, you must contact a ETQW Admin. Tactical Gamer staff will NOT respond to any inquiries or challenges of these rules or decisions on the public forum, however, we will respond to email / PM inquiries.
- No advertising or product marketing, other then direct Tactical Gamer material is allowed. An advertisement is categorized as an outright attempt to solicit business and any such posts may be removed. You may not link to advertise a product or service and we reserve the right to delete any link for any reason.
- Do not engage in "flame-wars" or excessive exchange of confrontational postings. Debate is important, but users should not try to provocatively "pick a fight." While we encourage lively debate, we will not tolerate personal attacks. Any person attacking another forum member will receive a warning and have their message removed. Any future incident thereafter, will result in that member being removed from the forums and Tactical Gamer ETQW gaming environment.
- No spamming; do not post the same message in every topic with different titles, but with the same message. Only post your message into the topic it most relates too. The inclusion of pictures within messages is allowed on this site. Referring to images on other sites should be done so sparingly if at all. This not only uses up bandwidth between sites, but often the images are copyrighted and protected by that site. Images or links to images are not to be included on our site without the express written permission of the owner of the copyrighted image(s). When posting images try to keep them under 640 x 480 resolution and under 20K.
- ETQW forums serve as a venue for players to discuss and express opinions about ETQW gaming. Therefore, heated discussions about religion, politics, morality issues and borderline pornography pics are inappropriate, even in our "Sandbox" Off-Topic forum. This kind of posting behavior has no place on our ETQW boards, so if players wish to discuss these type of polarizing issues, they should find other boards that sponsor and encourage discussion of this type of subject matter.
ETQW System Administrators function as trouble-shooters, helping to maintain a positive and enjoyable atmosphere, both in forums and on-line gaming. Administrators are able to give warnings, close threads and move threads in all forums. In addition, administrators implement "time outs" or bans if members fail to follow the rules or heed a number of warnings. The ETQW Administrators have the right to remove any post, topic or person for any reason we they see fit. ETQW System Administrators and Tactical Gamer Moderators are the only players who have the right to exercise or take disciplinary actions within the context of Tactical Gamer's ETQW forums and on-line game play.
ON-LINE GAMING (Basic Rules of Conduct)
• No swearing;
• No abusive behavior;
• No racist, sexist or homophobic behavior;
• Respect for Tactical Gamer and other members must be maintained at all times;
• Inappropriate or unsociable use of on-line gaming systems will be dealt with at the discretion of the ETQW System Administrators.

1) Non-Game Admins should not take responsibility for any concerns that they or other players may have resulting from other players. Report any issues to Tactical Gamer staff, Game Officers or Game Admins.
2) The public servers are our link to the outside world. As such our representation when playing should be one of best behaviour.
3) Remember to play the missions as though it is the first time you have played them. New players entering need to see how we play at Tactical Gamer.
4) You are required to review our Standard Operating Procedures regularly for guidance on what is expected on Tactical Gamer servers.Last edited by sc1ence; 01-03-2008 at 11:11 PM.

Re: Rules: Basic Rules of Gameplay and Conduct
Updated. A number of rules have been removed due to them not being needed. Really, we could just say, play as a good teammate and act in a mature and respectful way and those would cover all of the rules. but sometimes a little specificity is important.
