SHould i buy the CD or download from steam ?
can i down load from steam if i break the cd ?

If the CD is broken, you can not DL from steam to replace. You do not need the cd in the drive when playing, so you can keep it nice and scratch safe.
Where (or if) you buy is your call based on convenience and money.

If you buy the retail game at a store, you will not be able to register it with Steam (at least not as things are now).
