Re: Supporting member slots
Yes the server tends to fill up fast once it's seeded. I'll try to make myself avaliable as much as possible, unfortunately right now I can't admin from work becuase the port is blocked by the firewall(I'm working on a solution for this). Though you're highly encouraged to be on teamspeak if I'm not on or you can't join my xfire, aim, and msn messengers are all in my profile so if you need something and I'm on dont hesitate to ask.
ot: You sig is way above the signature limits. Please change it.

TG ET:QW Server Reserved Spots
Sorry if this has been discussed before. For a couple of nites I've tried to join in on the server and found it full. I saw that most folks playing didn't have the TG tag so maybe many might not be TG members.
I play PR and PoE a bunch and always can get onto the server even it is full since I think those servers bump non-supporting members in lieu of supporting members. It is a very nice benefit of being supporting.
It doesn't seem like the ET:QW TG server is doing this.
Any chance admins that this opportunity might develop in the future?

Re: TG ET:QW Server Reserved Spots
This is something that is being actively looked into. It's one of our top priorities and we will have that functionality online as soon as possible.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "good doggie" while looking for a bigger stick.

Re: TG ET:QW Server Reserved Spots
We really are working very hard on this - and have made some solid progress. In the meantime, contact an admin to free up a slot for you. I know it is not perfect and admins are not always on.
If it looks like this is going to take a lot longer, we may work out a system of trusted players to assist with clearing up spots for supporting members.
<edit>
I think we will be able to test the supporting member program sometime next week. I will keep people updated.
merged with sticky.

Re: TG ET:QW Server Reserved Spots
Testing the program on tusday night.
It will be done via an external program, not just a script running on the server. The server does not keep track of how long people have been playing... so all of the list management needs to be done via Rcon in an external program.
Damonte is coding it.
What the program will do:
keep one (or two) slot(s) open so anyone can connect. When somone connects in that last slot, if they are not a supporting member, they will be kicked. If they are a supporting member, the non supporting member that has been on the server the longest will be kicked.
We will be using player names in the buddy list for the test on tuesday night.
If it functions we will implement it. If not, we will be moving to get some semi-admins (trusted supporting members) to help with opening up slots until we can get it functional.
for now, if you need a slot, the best way to get one is to ask on TS. if no one is on TS then hit me up on xfire.

Re: TG ET:QW Server Reserved Spots
exact etqw player name is the account name.
The name you enter in options is the same as your account name, but has color codes entered.
clan tag is ignored. you can change this whenever and not have it affect what we use to determine playername.
lolipops may be available.

Re: TG ET:QW Server Reserved Spots
The SM program test will be postponed till Wednesday while Damonte cleans up his code a bit.
On a personal level, I would like to thank Damonte and Apophis for working so hard on getting this going. A lot of time and effort have gone into getting a supporting member kick program working for ETQW. Their actions are selfless and speak volumes to their dedication to our community. Kudos to both of you.
