Request a Vehicle
Requesting a vehicle, especially when you're a strogg can be very effective in more than a few situations.
I'm talking about the last box in your pop-up shortcut menu (where you request health and ammo), which usually says 'I need a ride!'.
After you get the level 1 upgrade, it should say, 'I need a vehicle'. It takes awhile to initially charge up, but after that you can get a vehicle whenever you want one.
As GDF this just gets you a 4-wheeler, which is worthless unless you're stranded somewhere.
But as Strogg, you get an icarus.
While most maps this might not seem like much, on the few that are infantry driven they can come in quite handy.
Take volcano for example. Once you get past the first round of barriers, usually there are 5 anti-infantry SGs set up that can be pretty hard to take out.
Hop on your icarus and lob gernades till they're all disabled.
What's also nice is that there are never any anti-vehicle turrets so you almost never get shot down.

Where in Texas are you? I am in Frisco.When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl and when you can't do that, you get someone to carry you.

You are not kidding about how long it takes to charge. The map is almost over by the time that thing is ready.
When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl and when you can't do that, you get someone to carry you.

You actually don't have to wait until it is fully charged. As soon as the bar turns white, you can request a vehicle. Basically, once the bar is full, it will NEVER be depleted.
