Help needed seeding the server

6 players are required to begin a ranked ETQW match. This means you have to have 6 people on the server AND have all of them in game in the "ready" state. An admin can no longer force a match to begin with fewer than 6 players.

The server will stay empty unless YOU help seed it. Stevo and I often sit idle on the server hoping people will show up and play. If you have the time and notice the server is empty or just has a few people on it, then please try to log in and help us get a game started.

Once you have about 8 players the server will fill up quickly, but getting those 6-8 on and ready can be quite difficult.

Seeding was successful in the end, server is full now and VOIP is getting a lot more common

Seeding on the TG server has been pretty successful. Usually I won't have to wait more than half an hour to get a game going. In contrast, when I try to seed the goon server, it's usually useless.

If you don't feel like playing a game with yourself, just join the server and minimize. Check back once in a while to see if other people have joined, and let them know you're there.

Unfortunately, I havn't seen much of it on the server. Hopefully we'll eventually get to a TGNS-like situation where communication is required to play on it.

voip is contagious. Just keep using it, and eventually people will start talking back.

Many don't know the keys it is bound to etc.

The ability to hear VOIP coms and act as a team member are required.

We are working on a VOIP ruleset/SOP and should have it done in about a week as we learn more.

I'd love to help, but my ET:QW ain't working right now, at least not online. It will chug along with that little yellow bar I've come to loath, and then it will say "Connection to Online Services lost." Awesome. I'm not sure, but it might be the patch. So yeah, I can't play right now.

Maybe, It would be helpful if I could play the game, so I sound like I know what I'm talking about. Right now, I'm using what I remember from my amazing memory when discussing tactics. And here I am writing a TGU module for the game! For shame, self, for shame!

I think holding off on the tgu module is probably a good idea at this point. Tactics with voip are getting considerably more complex. we still have a ways to go before we even know what established tactics there are. The basics we can all teach during ETQW sundays.

Yay, I'm temporarily off the hook!

Actually, I've really only gotten a basic rundown of the game so far, you know, intro material. My plan was to have a relatively simple first module, introducing all the elements of the game and some simple tactics for each class and vehicle, then have the students try them out in a few skirmishes with each other.
