Now I have a question: What controls artillery cooldown time, apart from the type of artillary used? It can vary significantly. Sometimes the gun will be ready to fire before the targeting tool resets.
I think if another field ops just launched his arti it effects your reloading time to avoid a continious rain of arti when 3 or 4 fieldops work together.
I haven't really checked to make sure, but I'm pretty sure it works like this.

Furthermore, if you use heavy artillery like the Hammer or DMC your "cooldown recharges faster then your artillery, in those last 10-15 seconds you can always call in an airstrike or violator

Only defibs destroy spawn hosts. Look on the map for flags. Those are the available spawn hosts. The flag is like the one on a mailbox, saying "available GDF corpse here".

Re: Get your ETQW newbie questions answered here !

Was wondering if there is anyway to set waypoints as fireteam member through the mini-map or the normal map. I've tried doing both using the normal 'spot' method and it doesn't seem to work. Thought this would be useful because as it stand you can only waypoint to places that are in direct line of sight to you.

I don think there is a way to set waypoints unless you are fireteam leader. You can still spot things for missions.

Was playing GDF the other day and was wondering is there any way to get the MCP to move any faster? I know it doesn't have a boost ability, but can the tank or apc just sorta ram it in the back to push it forward faster?

in case you guys haven't noticed, MCP driver can use a MG, just click!
lol i post this cause i just noticed this today LOL

but i dont drive MCP too often anyway.

Q: is it possible to make your server 12 map campaign or at least 6??

i know im new to your server, but its really great!! and 12 map camp would be great, lets you keep unlocks for an actually decent amount of time.... and ive never really got the chance
to get too many unlocks with only 3 maps

i know it was possible in WolfET...

EDIT: ooohh i suppose not in ranked huh? ... x(
does "ranked" make you keep stats?? i havent played game too long, only lance corporal i think

Re: Get your ETQW newbie questions answered here !

right click when you have the tripmine out. you cant set them just anywhere, but there are lots of tricky spots you can get them in. check this thread for some great placement hints. http://community.enemyterritory.com/...ad.php?t=18061

Unless you're clever with positioning, tripmine lasers easy to see. The obvious advantage however, is that they detonate instantly, so are much more likely to cause kills if triggered.

Thanks,

After testing this out, I can confirm it. If I'm the only field ops/oppressor, the artillery will usually be almost recharged by the time a bombardment is complete. The more field ops are on the team, the slower the recharge is. Airstrikes are not affected, and always have the same recharge time.

concerning the field ops questions:this post is quoted from the ETQW community forums.

For RA:

1 Fop - 45s
2 Fop - 67.5s
3 Fop - 90s
4 Fop - 112.5s
5 Fop - 135s

Formula seems to be 45+22.5*number of fops.

Or for the whole team with all fops deploying RAs, 1 RA strike every 45 (actually 60 due to targeting tool cooldown), 33.75, 30, 28.125, 27 seconds for 1-5 fops.

In the case of 4 or more fops you can actually get an airstrike off in between recharges. (Airstrike and targetting tool uses the same chargebar with a 1 minute cooldown).

As a side note - apologies to the people from the nerf flyers thread - you were in fact correct and with only 2 fops it is longer than the targeting tool cooldown. The TEAM still gets more RA strikes faster though but thats a side issue. This thread is about getting the numbers down for those interested (if they arn't already published somewhere).

For Hammer:

1 Fop - 60s
2 Fop - 90s
3 Fop - 120s
4 Fop - 150s
5 Fop - 180s

60s+30s*number of fops.

So thats one for the team every 60s, 45s, 40s, 37.5s, 36. For 3 Fops (just) or greater you can afford to put down an airstrike in between hammers.

For Arty:

1 Fop - 45s
2 Fop - 67.5s
3 Fop - 90s
4 Fop - 112.5s
5 Fop - 135s

So its the same as RA.

I didn't test strogg but I assume they are the same.

I would say that for 1 fops on the team they are all equal due to targetting tool cooldown. Hammers aren't so good for 2 fops But once you have 3-4 they are much more economical.
