just right click.

originally, just going by the name, i thought i'd get to revive myself if i got killed.
but all self-shock does is give you a health boost for a limited amount of time.

pretty worthless as it uses your whole medic gauge.

Re: Get your ETQW newbie questions answered here !

Is the grenade launcher more powerful than the plasma launcher?
after using both of them for a while I came to that conclusion, also due to the fact that GDF engis can shoot only 5 (or 7 with the unlock i think) nades, while constructors can shoot 10 plasma balls.
anyway i happen to get more frags with the GDF grenade launcher, so do you think it's just a randomic thing or is the nade launcher really more powerful?

That's funny, I was always under the assumption that the plasma launcher was better....

The main difference that I have seen with the plasma launcher is that the ball explodes after a certain flight time, the GDF grenade however has a much larger range

Think of stroyent as energy. Health and ammo require different kinds of it so each stroyent cell contains both types.

As it is energy is can be converted and that is what the two commands are for:

stroyent -> health - converts your ammo to health
health -> stroyent - converts your health to ammo

This means that Strogg can be more flexible in their behaviour without having a technician around. Let's say you got into your first firefight, won it, but in the process was left with low health. As it was your first fight you have plenty of charge in your weapons so you can quickly convert some of it into health and continue fighting.

On the other hand if you are an Infiltrator sniping with impunity you effectively get extra charges for your rail gun by converting health to weapon charges. Or as an Aggressor with hyperblaster successfully holding a chokepoint: you go through your ammo quickly but GDF cannot get at you. So again you can sacrifice your health level for extra shots.

The conversion is not perfect so you should avoid going back and forth as shortly you could find yourself out of both.

For detailed write up on conversion rates see this page at Quake Wars 4 Newbies.

I recall there being some advantage to converting health to ammo before getting stroyent packs? anyone know why this is? in some way using stroyup or down before you get stroyent cells makes you use fewer cells.

Re: Get your ETQW newbie questions answered here !

well if you are at fullish ammo and convert some into health first you get health and ammo from the cell instead of just wasting the ammo part

Re: Get your ETQW newbie questions answered here !

What Reaper said, since the stroyant cells give both health and ammo, it's more efficient to convert some ammo to health so that you don't need as many stroyant cells to get to full health. Also with the stroy up and down ability, I don't think you can do it while active. Meaning that you can't do it while in a fire fight, you need to get away for a few seconds before you can move the stroyant around.

Yes you can, I've bound this function to my mousewheel and find myself useing it very often.
