    Thank you!

    I would like to thank all of you for helping establish ETQW at TacticalGamer. The game got off to a pretty rocky start. Many were disillusioned by the free-for-all mayhem that the demo pub fare provided. There were some sporadic good games, but a good portion of TG players were very disappointed and remain disillusioned with the game.

    The game is very close to what I expected it would be way back when it was announced. It has fallen short of my expectations in some cases, but has exceeded them in others. The overall ETQW community is a strong one whose members are in this for the long haul.

    The TacticalGamer server is one of the most popular servers in the game. There are outstanding games played on our server on a daily basis. I am very grateful to all of you for making our server what it is.

    A server is just some software, what makes one server great and another one poor is the people that play on it. The people that play on ours are the best in the game.

    Thanks for working so hard to establish the culture teamwork and tactics on our server. In addition to having great skill, our regulars act with maturity and respect. I could not have wished for more at this point in the game.

    We have laid solid foundations for this game and we are growing wonderfully. We WILL experience growing pains, it is inevitable, but with such a solid playerbase and great admin team, we can weather any storm.

    It is great to watch the tactics in the game evolve as more and more players gain skill and knowledge in the game. The teamwork and communication are becoming MUCH better now that people have learning how to use VOIP effectively.

    Thank you to all the players and admins that make our server such a great place to play.

    I think ET:QW will grow. As all the other new games fade out a bit, i think ET:QW has much deepth and variety too keep players intrigued and entertained.

    It's between QW and Crysis for my next purchase... and I really like the QW demo Multiplayer... I do hear alot about the SP CRYSIS graphics... but with my card I won't get the juice anyway,,

    I would strongly suggest you check out the demo first. Try playing with bots, the AI is decent and can give you a good impression of the game. Another good thing to check for somone thinking of purchasing is Silver's ETQW VOIP vids.

    Crysis looks very bad if you have to run at lower graphic settings. If you don't have a top of the line card, you WILL have to run at lower settings.

    I have noticed a difference in the games recently... getting more and more people willing to use voip and work together.
    I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

    I think a lot of people are too quick to pass judgement.

    I saw a classic example of this for BF2's POE2 mod. They came out with a new 2.1 release last Friday and on the first night of playing there were already people complaining about balance on some maps and throwing around suggestions for changes. I'm sorry, but until you've had a chance to play with the map for a while and get a feel for the possible tactics, you can't possibly be making educated recommendations.

    While I didn't play the demo, I suspect similar judgements were formed with Quake Wars. I have yet to play an FPS where the average player didn't initially just want to just go in and shoot things. If people were judging the game based on that style of game play then it is no wonder they were disappointed. Of course not having VOIP IMO was a major oversite. Another negative is just the sheer number of good games that have been released lately. It was probably hard for many people to give the game the time it deserved when they had TF2, COD4, Crysis, WiC, and who knows what else competing for their gaming time and $$$.

    I waited to play Quake Wars until they had VOIP and so far the game has met my expectations. Anyone who played the free Enemy Territory will be very familiar with the game play and its obvious that the players still with the game have matured enough to be able to dig deeper into the possible tactics. My only beef is that just like with the original, there is a large gap between new players and those who are experienced in the game. Combine this with only 24 players on a map and it can be difficult to get balanced teams.

    For those who have yet to get the game my recommendation would be to give it a try but possibly wait for the price to drop which I'm sure it will.

    I'd also like to thank Sc1ence and the rest of the admins for taking charge of the server and leading the way.

    Now who do I talk to about adding a few more hours in the day so I can get more gaming in? So many good games, so little time.

    I was very worried when TF2 came out. There has been just so much buzz about that game that I was worried it would kill TG ETQW.

    I hope we can get some more faces on the forums though. It seems really weird to be among the most quiet game board at TG yet have a fairly active server. Still atleast we have a nice pool of regulars that come on our server.

    Also Pear I recommend you get both games. Crysis on medium stomps on every game out there and the suit is just awesome. I would have gone with Crysis if we had a TG server but so far we don't have one so get ETQW for now.
