    How to indicate direction.

This is a big issue for gameplay imo.

I have no idea what is north south east west... the minimap has no indicator.

so when I grab the data brain for example, I end up saying "I have it out back", and hope people know what back is...

Or, "I am on the spawn side of the small building near the radar tower." or something equally as disorienting and verbose...

There must be a better way. what am I missing?

I've been using simple left, right, center, main road, and describing the terrain if needed. Like left on the highest hill. It demands more, but i don't see any other way than description. Unless they add a compass in the next patch.....

The minimap does have direction indicator (note the white arrow on the edge of the map, it points to the North, the white rectangles indicating East and West) but it is useless. It takes forever to get your bearing, especially as markers for East and West are identical.

Static map ! its simple people, then the top of the map is always north

hopefully grid points will be put on map next patch eg, regroup at D4

I have my minimap set to rotate with me. not static. I get so disoriented with it static, but thats what it may come down to. this would be solved with little east west north south indicators on the compass...

So is mine. That is why I find the direction indicators so useless. It takes time to find the North and then you have to determine where you are facing at the moment.

    Re: How to indicate direction.

i have map set to F and i hold it down ALOT!! to check place

i only use minimap when fighting and for enemies... but i have F held down, like 45% of the time

and now im pretty used to the maps so i can tell what direction is which with minimap anyway

but F map is great to see where enemy vehicles, your teamates, everything waaay across map is too

I need to do that more often. I dont even know what key it is to bring up the big map. I used that ALL the time in Wolf:ET I am surprised I have not forced myself to adapt.

I find that until there is a compass, it is better to use landmarks. Sometimes I will use a general "I need back up" and then will state over Viop behind the second story building just forward of my position. Or pick out a landmark or deployable and use that as a reference. For example, there are two enemies just behind the AVT. This seems to help.
